Star Ocean, particularly Star Ocean: The Second Story for the PS1 [ironically, the first Star Ocean released outside Japan]. It's got a fun combat system, and a good story, with lots of characters. The PSP remake is much better, though, with voice acting and slightly updated graphics.

I was bored. Some of these are post-apocalyptic and some are cyberpunk. I am sure you could fire up an emulator if you wanted to check some of them out.

Deus Ex. You've got your dystopean future with a biomodified main character and conspiracy theories left and right. Not to mention that all the shooter skills in the world won't save you unless you invest your stat points properly.

Wow... thanks. I'll be coming back to this post for a long time to come until I get through all these.

People should learn to appreciate MobyGames more, and occasionally contribute to it. GameFAQs is a mess.

Anyone tried Septerra Core? I've had it for over a decade but never managed to finish it. The presentation is nice but the combat is seriously outdated. Still, it might be worth checking out.

This is a great resource... I've been there before but never realized they had this categorizing feature, thanks.

Xenosaga is PURE Sci-Fi, or it;s good to say Psychological, Epic, Intellectual and Philosophy Themed Sci-Fi
Xenogears has better story and overall it's better game, but in aspects of Sci-Fi, Xenosaga is better
