How many of you have done a project involving current arcade hardware or putting a video game console in a arcade cabinet?

Ugh, it's been something I really want to do for a few years now. Originally I wanted to build a Mortal Kombat II cab and then build a second MAME cab, but after I came to my senses I realized I should really only build one MAME cab only. I've been sitting on a MKII JAMMA board with a few extras that I've been meaning to put up on eBay for a while now. At one point even had a MK1 board with control panel overlays and marques for both games. Lol, I was gonna build a MK1 cab as well.

I really wanna build a MAME cab, and I've researched it to all hell, I just need the time and money to do it.

What about you, Japhei? You working or plan to work on anything?

Ironically, as I sit here in a 'I void warranties shirt', I don't. I pretty much just tinker with stuff that's older and need of help or I've acquired multiples of.

Ive built/repurposed a dozen or so MAME cabs, and am almost done with a personal one - I was making the monitor mount far more difficult than it really was.

As for current hardware, I have toyed with the dumped Japanese only releases and I tend to keep it at that. Zoids Infinity EX needs to be dumped so I can get the Type X emulator to work with it. Its like Zoids meets Virtual On.

I went as far as hacking a Zaxxon Arcade Controller. added extra buttons from Happ controls. Coin return button hooked up to Micro-Switch as "Select" button. Inside are guts of Playstation controller and PC keyboard encoder (Default Mame settings). My "bypass switch" is in the form of IDE Interface 40 pin connector, switch from Atari 2600/Commodore to PC to Playstation 1-2. From Playstation easily adapt to Dreamcast and Gamecube. The controller mounted with piano hinge and fasteners on top of a cutout bottom of a plastic Impact Printer sound box.

I am working on putting a Xbox 360 Nintendo Wii into 15hz and using a booster signal to make the picture really vibrant.

I have so far put the following consoles into arcade cabinets

15hz RGB

Microsoft Xbox
Sega Dreamcast
Sega Saturn
Sony Playstation
Sony Playstation 2
Sony Playstation 3

31khz Vga

Microsoft Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii
Sega Dreamcast
Sony Playstation 3

I would like to play the Shmup games in 15hz on my Konami Windy cabinet.

Also suprisingly I am working on my first MAME PC to put into a cab. I have always used my specially Made JAMMA box with my Xbox for MAME and FBA.
