Google Street Maps- am I just the last to know or what?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Did you ever try the mapquest driving directions thing where you have a US address as the starting and a place in Europe as the ending?

It's long been my dream to attain a little slice of immortality by walking on the street while the google street map crew is taking pictures. That dream is probably unattainable, since I imagine they're not going to redo the pics for a long time, if ever.

I wonder if google street maps has ever inadvertantly snapped a picture of someone doing something awkward, like leaving/entering a brothel or gay bar or something.

There are so many results for that sort of thing on Google. For example:

and here's a guy leaving a sex shop...

One thing I instantly noticed on the street view is how every street in America seems to be on a completely perfect 90 degree grid. What is up with that?! :o

It's crazy. Almost as if there's some kind of urban planning going on.

I remember there were shots of women sunbathing on their porches in the nude and at least one shot of a couple doing it on their porch that was caught.

Don't feel bad, I only found out about it a little over a year ago. It may have come out in 2007, but even now, they're still trying to get shots of all the streets out there.
