Google Street Maps- am I just the last to know or what?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Google Street Maps- am I just the last to know or what?

Post by J T »

Whoa! I had never seen this before. You can take a virtual tour of a neighborhood in Google Maps. I'm currently virtua-walking through my old neighborhood where I grew up! This tech is amazing. How long has it been around without me knowing about it?

Here's the house I grew up in:

A couple years actually. People in my old graphic design class would fuck around this all the time. I thought it was pretty cool myself.

Quite a long time, I cant believe you didnt hear about it. It was no the news for ages with people complaining because every now and again you would see something they didnt want shown.

I remember in Aus there was a girl where you could see here in a bikini on the street and she complained.

Ya, been out for a while. Though there are lots of places that still need to be added. My city was just added late last year.

Well, consider me late to the party. I'm excited about this though, since I just found out about it, so excuse me while I make some posts.

Here's where I buy most of my retro games:

I love that store. And they have a pretty good system with regards to case vs. shelf. If it's a game worth buying, it goes behind the case. Otherwise it's on the shelf. They've also got a decent record collection, which is nice for when I want to get my brother something (he's got a turntable).

While we're pointing out awesome places in Seattle, I'd like to direct your attention to the greatest pho place ever:

A few decades. This is old technology.

The government can now, or is now working towards being able to, pinpoint your location in a second using your unique personal body heat record. Comforting, isn't it?

Yeah, I tried Google Earth and I did the thing where it creates 3D models of buildings, but this is the first I've seen of these navigatable photos.

Wow, the year 2007 is pretty cool! What will they come up with in 2008?
