Re: Where'd all the NES systems go?
A retro game shop near me won't accept NES consoles or game because he cant get them to sell. Seems the stuations rather different near you.
On the other hand, he has shelves full of mega drive, master system and dreamcast games..... No saturn though.

You know what happened, Artsy fags with there gaylord vintage t-shirts and skinny jeans decided they were cool now every second homo has one and its hard as fuck to find the system and any decent game. Fuck 'artsy' people, or as they are known in Australia, fuck heads.

Ever heard the word "hipster" thrown around? That's what you're referring to.emwearz wrote:You know what happened, Artsy fags with there gaylord vintage t-shirts and skinny jeans decided they were cool now every second homo has one and its hard as fuck to find the system and any decent game. You live in England, it's literally the exact opposite of America between SMS and NES. In Europe, the NES is the "OMG, WTF is that?" system. In the US, you could ask an entire video game store and still not find someone that knows what a Master System is. The only Master System I've seen in person (besides perhaps at Toys R Us back in the day and had no idea what it was) was the one I own now.alienjesus wrote:A retro game shop near me won't accept NES consoles or game because he cant get them to sell. There is that fact too, there's some kind of "OMGZ U GUYZ, WE NEEDZ AN NES FO REALZ!" trend. That definitely takes them out of the market. Still, I know for a fact many people simply threw it out when it started blinking regularly.

The Master System was one of the first consoles I ever played, my grandparents owned it at their house, I used to just sit there and play After Burner and Alien Syndrome all day. The console is mine now, but I always found it strange how it was pretty much the ONLY SMS I'd ever seen or played.17DaysOlderThanNES wrote: You live in England, it's literally the exact opposite of America between SMS and NES. I dont think the NES was all that uncommon here, certainly not to the degree that the master system seem to be in the US.17DaysOlderThanNES wrote:

no, but from what I gather it's still relatively unknown. The NES there is probably about like what the Saturn is here.alienjesus wrote:I dont think the NES was all that uncommon here, certainly not to the degree that the master system seem to be in the US.17DaysOlderThanNES wrote:

At the 2 game shops that still sell older games in my city. (They are gamexchanges) They have some Famiclones and some actual systems. They usually get sold within a week.
