Looks a bit... action oriented. The original was all about pacing the story and giving choices. The second was a pure run and gun (with bloom effects!). Hopefully this prequel has a good story at least.

I'm not sure how you got "action oriented" from a cinematic trailer like that who's only inference of action is that he sees baddies through the wall and is going to make them pay. And you could do the same in the original DX. Honestly, there's not a whole lot we can take from this trailer in terms of what the game is going to be like.

Also, DX:IW did have a good story (though not as good as the first), it was just sometimes hard to get to because the rest of the game blew.

I perceived the tone as a setup for run and gun; angst filled smoking, drinking, almost but not quite breaking the glass, seeing multiple targets and seemingly running into danger than away from it.

That, and he reminds me of Gunther from the first one, and he was all gung-ho! :)

A nice interview about Deus Ex 3. It sounds like they might actually get things right with this game.

Trailer looks awesome even if it is just a CGI trailer.. a prequel to one of the best RPGs of the decade will be excellent. That said, I never actually finished Deus Ex. I probably should before this one comes out eh. I've got it on my steam account, might boot it up when I get my new PC.

I never understood the hate for the second game. I played it ages ago but I recall thoroughly enjoying it, as I had liked the first one. As long as you can still mod your body in a ton of ways I'm not too worried.

No location specific damage
Small maps
UI was not updated for the PC and is clunky
Dumbed down inventory system
Universal ammo causes many weapons to be useless
Removal of skill system

The actual biomods were fun, and I enjoyed the story. But it was clear that the game got neutered in order to work on the Xbox.

i liked invisible war... i played that one when it came out on the xbox. picked up the original ps2 rendition, got pretty far...it's a little heavy on the rpg side tho... not that i mind character development reeeallly, i anticipate awesomeness in the 3rd one.
