But in this day and age.. the vast majority of women still want men who are tall and have all their hair. It's not my fault. It's just what they want.
I don't know about that. I've know a ton of vertically and follically challenged dudes who never had a problem getting their stick wet.

Having an engaging personality, being a good provider, and following through with your plans and ambitions are far more important to a female than one's lack of hair.

No one is doubting that, but if a woman could choose between you with hair and you balding, which do you think she would choose? I don't think its the most important thing, but there's nothing wrong with a little vanity. My fiance hates me talking about fearing going bald. She says she will love me no matter what happens to my hair. Whether I believe her or not does not matter, I need to find myself attractive or I will think she doesn't. So do what makes you feel the best about yourself.

Luke-
I need some help guys, whenever I see this girl, I get all stupid and I can't speak. I also keep breaking my glasses because they fall off of my nose while I am checking my Pit stains.

After 8 months of growing my hair and seeing what it would do I just buzzed it all off two days ago. Except for an old school 80s style tail anyhow. I thought I could grow my shit but it just looks bad trying to pretend you are not balding. Besides chicks dig the shaved look, really. Do not let anyone tell you different. They love the shit. I look like hell though since I use to get into fights a lot when I was a kid, it makes my scars show all over.

Some people have a good head shape to be bald or closely shaven, some don't. My best friend at school and I shaved our heads. The annoying guy that we'd sometimes put up with for short periods of time kept doing things to emulate us, and he shaved his head at one point. Man, he looked really bad like that. But I think most people look at least ok if they do something with what they have left other than a combover.

I have a really strong widow's peak myself. My father still has a full head of really thick hair, but my mother's father had a 'Picard' and baldness usually follows the mother's side. I still seem to be favoring my father, but I usually shave my head anyway. *shrug*

Not a single mention of Propecia/Finasteride?

It's not a miracle cure, but it's approved by the FDA, works in 98 percent of the cases, and it has also put my mind at great ease. Also, the side effects are all psychosomatic.

For those thinking about transplants, don't fall in the hands of a surgeon who's after only after your money. Doctor William Rasman's blog and site are a well of information:

www.newhair.com

(And no, Merck isn't paying me to mention their product. I use the generic version of it, and speak from experience.)

The drug commercials that really get me is the ones for Botox, toe nail yellowing, rest leg syndrome, impotent pills, etc. Warning may cause diarrhea, blurred vision, headaches, heart disease, liver cancer, etc. Dummies would still buy the stuff.

Baldness is part of life, inheritance in the genes. Sure you want to look good, mental and physical health is far more important.

Would we even be discussing this if it were a woman balding? We would tell her all sorts of remedies, telling of personal experiences with rogaine and like products and ways to cover up. Would we tell her to just shave her head and embrace it? Which I might add shaving is still just a way of covering up. The only people I truly believe embrace baldness are those that keep their hair the same length as before they started balding.

People down play the importance of finding onesself attractive if you are a man. I heard someone mention mental health and that's part of it. You shouldn't over fret over going bald, but if you're the type that would there is nothing wrong with doing whatever works best for you to feel comfortable with yourself.

If someone was asking tips for building muscle would we all say to keep your body the way it is, embrace your natural muscles? How about acne advice? Acne is not going to ruin your health, it just makes you appear unhealthy and could leave scars that again are just appearance only. Some also say acne is also genetic. So should we not use acne medication or visit a dermatologist?

Mostly what personally bothers me about going bald myself is as a child I made fun of my father's baldness. Yes it was wrong, but as a kid I thought it was funny. I am sure I hurt his feelings. I would say things like "Dad could you bend down I need a mirror" or "put a hat on the sun's reflection is in my eyes". I don't want my future kids saying that about me. Or jokes from my wife, friends. They might say it in good humor but it still can hurt your feeling.

I am not worried about going gray, or wrinkles though. I hate getting hair on my back, upper arms and shoulders and I can't stand it. I shave it right off. That said we all have our own views on what is and isn't attractive for ourselves.
