A thread about losing your hair in a retro game forum. What's next? A thread about being awkward around girls or an faq about how to remove pit stains?

You guys are reinforcing stereotypes people!

Does the smell bother you at all?
The Foam has received a lot of complaints about the smell. It definitely has a strong "haircare product" sort of smell. But I personally don't believe that it smells "nasty" or anything, as others have claimed.

Nothing. But when you're 29 and look 40.. it's a problem.

The best way to cure the awkwardness of being around girls is to find a good "gal pal." Normally, these chicks tend to be the ones who are undesirable-looking and the ones you'd never want to sleep with in a million years, unless you were dog drunk and horny as a toad. :D

Get you a gal pal and then just be yourself around them. Swear, pick your nose, fart, whatever. After awhile, you'll learn to relax and dealing with girls will be easier. Also, sometimes a good gal pal will give you dating advice and may even help you pick out some nice clothes at the store that other women will find attractive. :)

I personally will not tolerate it for myself and will get surgery if I have to. You guys can shave your head or comb-over, I am joining the Hair Club for Men.
Guilty as charged. I've been balding since junior high. It used to bother me until I finally figured out that it didn't really make any difference to those members of the opposite sex that I was actually interested in (those not overly-caught up in appearneces) or to the kinds of jobs that I was looking to pursue (those that require a youthful appearance). I can understand needing to do something about balding if you fall into any of those categories, but otherwise Rogaine, transplants, etc. just strike me as the worse kind of vanity.
Yeah, I wouldn't do the implants thing. But the way I look at it, if there's an affordable and easy way to improve things, I might give it a try.

Why? My hair made me look 30 at 20, 40 at 30, etc. I have found there are many more advantages than disadvantages to looking older. Any kind of hair care smell on the other hand, would be a disadvantage...

Look, I'm not naive. I know that baldness treatment is a multi-million dollar industry in this country and that baldness has a stigma associated with it.

Nonetheless, I've found that most people who obsess over losing their hair are usually unhappy with themselves for many other reasons, have little going for them outside of their presumed good looks, and are worried about impressing like-minded superficial people. I don't mean to insult, and these tendencies I've observed are just that - tendencies. BUT, I bet you'll feel a burden lifted if you just let it go and stop worrying about/treating your hair. Try to improve other areas of your life instead - think how much you could learn about a new subject, learn a new instrument, master a new exercise, etc. if you could spend the time you treat/obsess about your hair doing something more worthwhile for your mind/body.

It's kinda hard to feel confident in yourself physically when you're 29, balding, and still single. If I were married with a family then I really wouldn't care (except for when it's time for a family photo). But in this day and age.. the vast majority of women still want men who are tall and have all their hair. It's not my fault. It's just what they want.
