Advice on selling stuff

Post by brickiemart »

I am not actually selling anything yet, so I decided to put this question here. If it belongs in the buy/sell/trade, feel free to move it mods. Long story short, I need a new laptop and I am going to pay for it with a combination of tax return cash and money I make getting rid of a portion of my old game collection. Some is more valuable than others and it spans from some Wii games to an Odyssey 2. What I think I can get the most money for is a Turbo Duo with a good handful of games. My question is do you think I should break off the valuable games and sell them separate, like Dracula X and Lords of Thunder or should I include it all in one lot and cross my fingers? Some things I have to include with the console like Keith Courage and Alien Crush because those games seem so low in value and I doubt I can get more than a dollar or two for them. The list of what it includes is below. Also, I plan on putting this on Ebay, but will post it in the 'sell' forum a few days prior to let Racketboy members have a crack at anything they want. Thanks for any advice. Also, what is a good image hosting site that can let me upload at least twenty photos without paying for them?

Definitely sell the valuable stuff separately from the lot. Those things tend to be easy to sell on their own, and you're going to get a lot less by lumping them in as a single lot.

Photobucket works for me.

I got most of my price ideas from seeing what it sells for on Ebay (or what the lowest unbought 'buy it now' is) and just subtracted a few dollars from that. Thanks for the link Luke and I think I am going to go with your advice dedalusdedalus.

I hate those Photo hosting sites! Too Java bloated. Why not just post full pic instead of thumbnails directly here? You are allowed three at a time and the file size limitation is pretty good. Just group shot the console categories. Definitely get more immediate exposure rather then hoping someone would click a thumbnail and slog through that Photobucket, etc.

I can understand not liking photobucket but tinypic works great and has worked for several years. As long as you use hot-linking (use img tags), you won't have to click on a thumbnail.

Here's an example from tinypic.com

Here's an attachment from racketboy. The above is more cleanly integrated with the post in my opinion.

If you're ever going to sell used PS3s and Xbox 360s, perhaps "brickiemart" isn't the best user name.
