i myself and going bald a bit: hair is thinning and my hair line is going.

anyways, just don't try to hide the fact you are going bald. in my opinion, dudes can look absolutely ridiculous when they try to "hide" what they are loosing with certain hair styles and such. just accept it and be proud to be sporting a head full of thin hair.
if you took a shit, please put it back

I have a feeling all this pro-baldness talk is coming from people balding or bald. You may still look good with hair loss but who looks better without hair? I personally will not tolerate it for myself and will get surgery if I have to. You guys can shave your head or comb-over, I am joining the Hair Club for Men.

That said my father who is completly bald now, for a time used rogaine while he was still balding. It didn't grow back hair, but it seemed to stop his balding in it tracks. He stopped using it a few years ago and it's like his hair made up for lost time and fell out rapidly to catch up. So if you use it be prepared to use it forever.

Guilty as charged. I've been balding since junior high. It used to bother me until I finally figured out that it didn't really make any difference to those members of the opposite sex that I was actually interested in (those not overly-caught up in appearneces) or to the kinds of jobs that I was looking to pursue (those that require a youthful appearance). I can understand needing to do something about balding if you fall into any of those categories, but otherwise Rogaine, transplants, etc. just strike me as the worse kind of vanity.

I personally favor being bald and not minding it, and I haven't been balding myself.

On the other hand, from what I know Minoxidil is indeed a permanent thing - apparently it will stop where it is at (not necessarily gaining back lost ground) but it will only keep it stopped while you use it "forever". But once again this is stuff you should ask your doctor about, I think.

I would say getting muscle implants is the worse kind of vanity.
I find using Rogaine or hair Transplants more of prevenative measures. You do it as hair loss is happening, I would say its equal to dying your hair.

I'd put them in the same category since they are both surgery purely for cosmetic "benefit."

I kind of agree with you, and I get your point, but you can't go to the gym and grow hair. You can go to the gym and grow muscles.

Man, I wish you could go to the gym and grow hair. I'd open a wig and a mirkin shop.

You would make a fortune, too many out there worry about appearance.

Personally glad I still have hair on top, but it is thinning and when it goes, so what, not gonna cover up or shave.

Part of life not going to have vanity issues, long as I bathe and change clothes every so often.
