Rogaine

Post by Weekend_Warrior »

Bought my first bottle of Rogaine Foam tonight. Decided to try it for a few months to see if it does anything for my hair loss.

Anyone have any thoughts on Rogaine or stories of other hair products to share?

You could just do what most people do now when they start to lose hair. Shave it.

Yea, I am 20 and I have a pretty hardcore receding hairline, vampire style! Just shave!

As far as I'm aware, that thing works.

Try to get a "non-brand" version of the mixture, as long as it has Minoxidil in it under the right concentration it should work and it is probably cheaper.

Man, don't sweat it. Just cut it short or shave it and forget it. Life is too short to worry about hair.

From what I've heard, Rogaine and products of it's ilk, only work on bald spots, and not on receding hairlines.

I've got a full, thick head of hair, but I'm also very aware of my appearance. Perception is reality, and if you're losing hair and want to do something about it, I say go for it. Every guy is going to have thinning hair anyway, just no way around it.

Speaking of shaving your head bald, I was so jell-o of a few kids in middle and high school who were bald. They had really dark skin, and their heads were perfect with no bumps, knots or indentations. I can feel the knots on my cranium. I'd look awful with a shaved head, definitely not a J.L Picard or Telly Savalas situation for me upstairs. And personally, if my hair goes through a Eddie Munster phase, I'll be cool with it. I do swear I'll never sport a comb-over though.

This. If you are balding on the top/back of your head go for it. Unfortunately there is nothing over the counter that will help with receding hairlines. Trust me, I've looked  .

I don't know if Minoxidil (the active ingrediente of Rogaine) works on receding airlines or not, but I thought it did. Your doctor should know (or if doesn't know, I think should find out for you?). Just getting the thing and applying doesn't seem like a good idea. Also, I hear it is funny if you let the stuff drip the stuff on your eyebrows they will become thicker :) So be careful.

I used it for just a little while back when I was like 20. Don't really remember much. 9 years later, it crossed my mind again. I haven't thinned out much since then, but I could use a little more.

Does the smell bother you at all?
