I Finally Beat SF2.

Post by lisalover1 »

After dozens of attempts at beating Street Fighter 2, I have finally beaten the game. Mind you, it wasn't a proud victory; I just chose Ryu and Hadoken'ed the crap out of everybody, but I still won, and it felt good. I'm trying to beat more fighting games now, so I can become better at them. It's a genre that I really want to improve in. So, where do I go from here? [By the way, it was SFIISCE on the Genesis, with the 6-button controller].

Try beating the Arcade version of Hyper SF II anniversary.

That must be one of the hardest games ever!

You want to get better at fighters, play KOF, seriously its so bad ass it makes you decent at all fighting games. SFIII is where I would go, but like I do to friends who I try to get into fighting games, SFIV is one of the easiest ways around the learn the move sets.

Street Fighter 3 is not hard.

I beat it on a daily basis. Capcom and their Stupid Suicide battery force me to!!!!

The battery is simliar to the a car alternator as in if you do not use it often it can lose its charge and die.

Forces arcade ops into running the games all the time or risk losing the game period. A rom hold the encryption key and when the battery dies the key is lost and erases simliar to a NES carts memory.

Thank god I am one of the only people on this planet who can fix them as well. BUT IT IS A MAJOR PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!

Want to play a hard semi capcom fighter? Play SVC Chaos!

You don't really get good at fighters until you start playing humans. It's a whole different game when you're not fighting AI. Well, unless they just spam the same moves over and over, then they may as well have been programmed.

It's best to find a sparring partner that you can talk moves and strategies with while you play.

Yeah, I was wondering this too.

The other thing is that if you MAME the games, you'll realize how phenomenally high you can set the difficulty in the internal menu. This mostly just cranks up the AI cheaterness, though.
