My set up so far...

Post by fuctfuct »

Basically starting from scratch. Most of this i have put together in the last few months. I will be updating slowly.

Under that orange t-shirt (i usually cover all my consoles while not in use) is a 360 Elite 120 gig that i got on boxing day. The PS2, GC and Xbox are modded (Matrix clone/XenoGC/Softmod+120gb). I also have a Genesis 2 but its case is in the dish washer

I wont bother showing my games as there isn't much ATM and i have a ton in the mail (some of them from you guys! hehe)

And before anyone laughs at the Dynex LCD... It's actually not bad at all. It looks great for the price (Got it for $300 CAD) and only has 26ms input lag with HDMI at 720p. Not sure about 480p/i stuff but i can't notice anything. I have bought and returned many far more expensive TVs before i just said "f**k it, I'm buying the cheapest 32 inch i can get". Every single one of the more expensive ones (one was $1100) had some problem or another that i couldn't live with given the price paid. All that said i am still saving up for a plasma :)

I need to find one big stand for both TVs or just get another black one. I really hate that metal stand. I also need a danged Dreamcast!! hehe

Very nice setup, I especially like the look of the CRT's stand as well as I've always had an attraction to wood/wireframe designs in entertainment center furniture like that.

I can completely agree with you on those Dynex TV's too, while they may seem crappy and cheap at a glance they're actually quite nice for the price and a great cheapo for a spare room, or to have as an intermediary TV while saving up for a large upgrade such as the plasma you mentioned.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Nice basic set up, fairly clean and organized. I would maybe get a little plastic box or storage container that you can use to store your controllers.

Even if you only have a small collection, upload some pics.

@ fuctfuct,
That's quite impressive for what you say are mostly recent purchases. I like.
And what you say with regard to some of the 'lesser' known brands of TV's, is very true. Recently I got myself a Sinotech 42 inch LCD, and after I messed around with the settings (the default factory settings are always crappy, imo) the picture quality now looks I would say very near or even probably as good as my infinitely more expensive Sony.

Nothing to be ashamed of there, we all start with a small collection at some time. Why the call them collections, you need to collect stuff.

Pretty much everything you have there is solid gold, its all fine to have 15 games on a system but when 10 of them are shitty games / sport games then to me it just seems people waste there money on stuff they will never actually you, your stuff there is all quality product.

I'm liking those universal cases you're using for the NES, SNES and N64. I'll have to pick some up in the future.

Yea, they are great. Kind of a pain in the ass for NES games (you need to mod them). I'm not looking forward to doing a ton of them again hehe. I recently got a box of DS case from Nintendo. Need to get some more GBA games.
