Desoldering tool is handy, beats trying to blow the "slag" off.
Cheaper at Frys, if you can find one local.

Am i safe in assuming that all of these require a seperate tool to actually melt the solder?

edit; nevermind, watched the video. Appreciate the offer but i'll stick with my desoldering iron.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

I never get these things to work properly, unless you are doing through hole, even then, I use a braid.

The Edsyn models work flawlessly. All the rip offs probably don't work as well.

Actually, they do not, Mine is an Edsyn too, I could suck more solder off with my lips.

LOL - I'm gonna try that next time I need to desolder.

No but really - I have used 3 different models of this on lots of different things and I have NEVER had any solder left over... :o I'm mostly just using it on regular circuit boards - have not tried it on anything else.
