Shiny Pichu from Wifi Connection

Post by MrHealthy »

Just wanted to let anyone who cares know that any owners of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum can get a special shiny Pichu from Mystery Gift and the Nintendo Wifi Connection right now. If traded over to Heart Gold or Soul Silver upon release you can get a special Spiky eared Pichu in game.

This works with roms too so you can farm them like I am.

I heard about this one recently. I already got my shiny Pichu back when Gamestop was offering them via wireless... so I can't get this one. :( But if you haven't gotten one yet, you can get this one!

Couldn't you get the USB dongle?

That means paying money for something that should have been included in the first place. I'm not going expose my network just so I can get the DS lite online, it's ridiculous.

I consider WEP to be "good enough" for home use. Then again, I'm not up on all the super hackers in the UK, so it might be that you need WPA.

Can't you switch to WEP for the 5 odd seconds it takes to download the Pichu?

USB dongles never worked for me, so I actually turn off the security on my home network for the 3-5 minutes or so it takes for me to download something off of Nintendo's WFC. When I'm done, I turn it back on.

So far, nothing's happened!

Don't really want to risk it, WEP can be cracked very quickly with a laptop running linux and a certain chipset wireless card.

Yes... but it begs the question why someone would be around your home trying to crack your WEP? And what would they do once they did so?
