I want one really bad. Let's see what happens when the cost of production goes down and the FAA gets some infrastructure in place that will let them change Section 103.15.

It's cool, but not fuel efficient. It only goes around 30 some miles. But you get some wicked-kickass style points!

Yeah, that's because they went with making it an Ultralight so they wouldn't have to pay to get it certified (which is expensive). I definately could see once the FAA is better set to handle more people having things like this and the company makes some money that they make one with a larger range that can move faster (it's restricted to 63 MPH and 5 gallon tank).puke_face wrote:It's cool, but not fuel efficient. I would go for one, but itll probably cost more than what my car is worth.

As with ultralights, people might make some... modifications.MrPopo wrote: Yeah, that's because they went with making it an Ultralight so they wouldn't have to pay to get it certified (which is expensive). There's still the whole "illegal to fly over congested areas" clause in FAA regulations that keeps it from being as useful as it could be. Let's see what happens in 5-10 years as the FAA evolves and the costs come down. Maybe I can get one when I'm 40 and take it to work. That'd be badass.Luke wrote:As with ultralights, people might make some... modifications.MrPopo wrote: Yeah, that's because they went with making it an Ultralight so they wouldn't have to pay to get it certified (which is expensive).
