Damn you Postal Service!
I have been buying a lot of Saturn games lately, mostly through Ebay. I always get a little nervous when thinking about the delivery because I live in an apartment building. I've never had anything not show up until this past month. A copy of Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2 both didn't show up. The delivery confirmation shows it delivered, but there is nothing here! What am I to do? At least no one stole my Iron Storm? Anyone have any annoying USPS stories involving your video games?
*Update*
Yesterday I told the Super of my building about my package not showing up. He said "check the mailbox next to mine, it has a broken lock and sometimes the mailman will put stuff in there if he doesn't know where to put the package or slip or whatever" I replied "that would be dumb considering my mailbox is clearly marked with my and my girlfriend's last name" But I checked it anyway, and it was empty. Cut to today's mail delivery, there are a few letters, regular mail. I check the box with the broken lock, what do you know, a slip to pick my package up at the post office! Dated yesterday?! WTF USPS!

I would try asking your neighbors if they got your mail by mistake, that happens with regular mail to me all the time. Hope they're not lost forever.
I think the USPS sucks. They are very inconsistent and charge more than what they can provide you. Package tracking is the worst for me. You'll see that it was sent on a certain day and then not until after it's delivered will the online system show what happened to it on it's way. It's horrible.
Also, I had a bad experience where several Netflix movies were broken upon arrival. Hard to believe it was broken in half before it was sent, right?

get a post office box for $60 a year. most sellers will ship to po box unless they exclusively ship UPS or Fed-x. much safer to get a po box.
There are 3 things I don't believe in, politics and math.

Re: Damn you Postal Service!
Why? Net Flix has sent me horribly scratched disc, I even found an identifiable item in the envelope once. It didn't make its way in there via the mail system. Why would they bother sending me a disc with a scratch that you KNOW wont work, unless they don't really inspect them. At least, this is my logic. I wouldn't put it past them to send you a cracked disc. Or maybe one that had a slight crack and it didn't take much during the mailing of it to crack more. It's not like they have rocket scientist mailing the DVDs to you, it's probably a minimum wage job.
Only one time that I can remember I had a problem with USPS, but it was kinda my fault. When you have to sign for a package, if you're not there they obviously don't deliver it. So I had all the Super Bombermans plus the Bomberman multi tap coming from Japan, but at the same time I had several other things coming in the mail. So one day I got a couple bubble envolopes and one of those orange slips they give you when you weren't home to receive a package.
I never bothered to read one of those slips, I just assumed they'd redeliver it. So the next day or so I got another package or two, and I assumed one of them was the slip. But apparently you have to go to the Post Office with the slip to pick up the package, or call to get it redelivered.
So I was tracking the Bombermans from Japan via EMS. It had the same status for weeks. Then, I finally emailed the seller to ask what was up with it. He told me I had to continue tracking it from my local service. I guess after it's in the country you can't track it on the Japan EMS site anymore, you have to track it on the USPS site. So I did, and it said there was a delivery attempt and the package was at the Post Office.
AND, they only hold it for a certain amount of time before they ship it back to the sender. I picked it up just a few days before they would have sent it back.
So I guess it was my fault for not reading the delivery slip, but the online tracking also confused me.

If you have any in your area maybe look into a UPS Store Box. They accept delivery from any carrier, you get a street address not a box# and their open much later than any Post Office. Our town doesn't get mail delivery and the whole town has to go to the Post Office to get the mail. It sucks badly and the Post office hours suck. Not to mention having a P.O Box as a address makes delivery of certain things very hard. So we have a UPS Store box and its the greatest thing ever. You get a email anytime a package arrives, the hours are great and I finally have a address not a P.O Box #!

Re: Damn you Postal Service!
Pay the extra fee to ship ups. The usps sucks my asshole everytime I try to ship something. I only started using them again to lower shipping costs...once I did people started telling me about how HORRIBLE the package got to them. I sent something priority to canada to a forum member, like...100 nes games or so, and there was a HUGE hole in the box...luckly nothing fell out but seriouly...pay more for ups. I have sent well over 10,000$ in guitars, amps, games, car audio, high end car parts...nothing EVER happens. I send 200$ in games usps...gets there with a beat up box and broken crap.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.
Re: Damn you Postal Service!
Over 3000 items shipped and received with USPS. Not one item lost not one item broken.
A couple dozen shipped with UPS and Fed-Ex. Several lost and several broken.
Your mileage may vary. Horror stories about every shipping service from any person you ask. It's because they all have employees. Employees who steal, lie, cheat and are just plain lazy sometimes. It's the way the world turns unfortunately.
