Is This Stealing or Just A Lucky Find?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Have fun playing them in hell. Don't worry, they're worth it. ;)

This topic sounds like a question I would hear in a business ethics class. To which the prof would ask the class if this was a moral thing and if so, put up your hands and no one would meaning they think its immoral. Then the prof would ask "would you do it?" and the whole class would raise their hands...

It's funny because the prof hinted that he wasn't moral or ethical many times throughout the semester and in the end of the last class asked the class if the class changed their ethical approach in any way and everyone said no.

Basically that means the class was completely useless...

Or it means you learned how subjective ethics are and can now talk about it with some authority and experience (like by relating a story from class....).

As the consumer, you are under no obligation to inform the store of thier mistake. As far as you should be concerned, they are selling Vectorman 1&2 for $5.99. No one is being hurt or losing out on a significant sum of money here, so don't feel bad.

Could be. Hard to tell on the internet when no emotion icons are used to show sarcasm.

this is the way i see it.

1. you went to the game store.

2. found vector man.

3. saw the price tag for $3.99.

4. decide to open it (optional) to check if manual is included or the game is in good condition.

5. you bought it and left.

if you never opened it and still bought the game, i say your a lucky bastard.

If you think it was a mistake and didn't let them know. Then yes it is a form of stealing. Now if you bought the game and found there is another game its not stealing. But either way you're not illegally stealing. People make mistakes in retail all the time and consumers think its a free for all to take advantage of it.

If you had a garage sell and miss labeled a price you wouldn't let the buyer have their way. Now if you do the same thing in a store the buyer gets away with it, even if it was only one item out off a hundred that was priced wrong.

People shouldn't take advantage of others mistakes but it happens all the time.

But a word of advice if you feel guilty or think you need to hide what your doing then most likely you already know what you're doing is wrong. I doubt you will burn in hell for what you did though. In the grand scheme of things it is a minor trivialty. Just live you're life the way you think you should best.

To answer the question if its a lucky find. Its an okay price for one boxed vectorman and one loose, you could have gotten both boxed for just a little more.

It's probably wrong, but I don't think it's big enough of a wrong to make an enormous difference.
