The story, in my opinion, was definitely good enough for an action film. The main character is an autistic girl who, I guess, is supposed to be around fourteen.

I'll confess that the first couple of action scenes didn't do a whole lot for me, but they really got progressively better and better as the film progressed. They probably weren't quite as intense and insane as some of Tony Jaa's stuff, but they're still a lot better than what you'll typically see in any American film. The outtakes at the end are pretty brutal, and a lot of people bled before things were finished.

Oh, and there's an awesome song they play at one point during movie and over the ending credits. The only word is "fry" over and over again. I'm sure it's just a case of the whole Asian pronunciation thing, but it's pretty great.

Oh, also it's currently available on Netflix Watch It Now.
I have been considering watching that on netflix. Sounds like it might be worth it. Have you checked out District B13 or something like that... it's French martial arts (I mean French people doing martial arts), and I thought it was pretty decent.

Saw Star Trek.

I was pretty much blown away by how good it was. I keep hearing that the film's very friendly to people who don't know anything about the series and they were right. The film was great for me (a person who don't know and didn't care about the series). Great introduction to the world of Star Trek and just an enjoyable film to watch.

Tying in with video games.... Star Trek the movie was like Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. Great introduction to the both series.

Also relating to films... I must see Avatar soon before it goes out of the theater and no 3D. Seems like everyone saw the film and loved it.

No, you are wrong. A lot of people hated it. It's seriously not worth you money, and I am very unhappy about having contributed to that film's record box office performance by supporting it financially. Most movies I have seen in my life have been better than "Avatar."

I mean, I guess you might enjoy it if you like things that suck.

Watching The Descent Part 2 right now. I loved the first one, but my expectations are low.

Fifteen minutes in, the plot is vaguely the same thing as Aliens. So I suppose there's hope.

Although for the record I didn't think Aliens was that well written. Just awesome-looking and otherwise saved by Sigourney.

Going through all the Quentin Terantino movies, just saw Jackie Brown, definitely my least favorite so far, but it's not bad.

Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were amazing. Inglourious Basterds is great too.

A lot of QT haters think that Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction are the best.

Bram Stoker's Dracula

A great movie! I liked the scene transitions, and the beginning where he stabs the cross is just awesome.

First half of Rang De Basanti. Stopped right at intermission (it's almost 3 hours long).
