My Playable Cave shmup collection

Post by Japhei »

This is my ever changing Cave Shmup collection of playable games.

I used to have full kits for almost every game but it costs a small fortune to keep around so I took a alternative route and run all the consoles in Arcade cabinets. The versions for XBOX I have listed are running on Final Burn emu. They play fantastic and I actually put the pcb versions side by side with little to no difference in or quality loss.

My playable Cave collection

Donpachi (Mame, Xbox , PS1 , PSP)
Dodonpachi (Mame , Xbox , PS1, PSP)
Esprade (Mame, Xbox)
Dangun Feveron (Mame, Xbox)
Guwange (Mame , Xbox)
Pro Gear (Mame, Xbox, PSP)
Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou (PS2.Xbox 360)
Espgaluda (PS2)
Mushihimesama (PS2)
Ibara (PS2)
Death Smiles (Xbox 360)
Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Extra (Xbox 360)
Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (Xbox 360)
Mushihimesama Futari Black Label(Xbox 360)
Espgaluda 2 Black Label (Xbox 360)

Coming soon all on Xbox 360

Death Smiles Mega Black Label Platinum Hits April 8th Japan and June in the USA
Ketsui Extra April 22nd
Death Smiles 2 X May 27th
Guwange TBA

I have read there is final burn on the PSP so I assume Guwange, Esprade , Dangun Feveron are playable as well. If you are looking into playing Cave shmups perhaps Consoles in Arcade Cabinets is your best choice and a great value.

there was a new version of final burn released on xbox just 2 months ago called final burn legends which uses the most up to date romsets, you might want to check that out and compare it to the older version of final burn you are using.
BTW final burn legends emulates the psickyo 2sh board so
dragon blaze
strikers 1945 2
strikkers 1999
sol divide
and so on are now playable and you can now play turbo outrun, galaxy force 2 and powerdrift on xbox for the first time wih this emulator.
this is the emu i use for playing the cave games on xbox now and in my opinion they look better with a sharper image.
the legend will never die!

^ The best part about CFW PSP's are the aspect ratio for emulating arcade shooters. Progear is boss on that screen.
