So here's the setup:
Model 2 Genesis
Power Base Converter (plastic cut to fit model 2 Genesis)
3 Button Genesis controller
When I start the game the character runs straight left as if the button is stuck, but it's not.
Unfortunately it's the only Master System game I have to try to see if it's the game or the converter.
I've tried different controllers...
Any thoughts?

Some Master System games don't really work due to the controller setup being incompatible. I believe Afterburner and Space Harrier are also like this, but I'm not 100% sure on that. That would possibly explain the controller issue you're having.

Wait a minute, you're saying you got the Power Base Converter to work on a Model 2? I thought that was impossible!cabrando wrote:So here's the setup:

Re: Alien Syndrome Not Working With Power Base Converter
yeah it's on the model 2, I thought it was well known that it worked on a model 2.
From the stuff I've read it was only a physical issue with getting them to work together. The back part of the Power Converter wouldn't fit over the model 2 cords.
But now you guys have me wondering

Pick up one of the wonderboy games on the cheap and see if it'll play on your power base converter.

You need to use an SMS controller and your problem will be solved. Alien Syndrome is one of the few games that aren't compatible with the Genesis controllers. BTDT

Yikes! Just looked on eBay for a SMS controller, those are pricey

Don't pay ebay prices. You can probably find a SMS controller in a pawn shop for a dollar.
