Gamecube Mic-Which games supported it?

Post by Pichu »

Hello, I recently found a Gamecube mic for .99, and being a collector, I grabbed it,
but I don't have any games for it, so I was wondering which games supported it.

I know of:

Mario Party 6
Odama

But that's it.
Help?

Only 6, it seems. Of those, the only 4 worth playing are probably the mario parties, chibi robo, and maybe odama. No clue if Odama is actually good though, it just looks interesting.

I have Odama, its cross between pinball and simple directions via mic to troops on a strategy type ancient Japan battlefield. Definitely different.

For the collecters there is a grey and more rare black mic. The black mic I think came with Mario Party. There is also a microphone holder to clip your mic directly to controller. Hard to find but surprise, Nintendo still carries them for a buck.

I ordered two came in a couple weeks later:

It would've had to have been the one in Mario Party 6, because the CIB Mario Party 7 that I have has a white mic.

And even if you have a mic and the Mario Parties, they made very little use of them. I think MP7 only had a handful of mini-games that utilized that. The only other uses were Easter Eggs, otherwise it was just another Nintendo excuse to increase the price.

And for me, either my mic was broken, or it doesn't work on Wii. If someone can confirm or deny that'd be great, because I haven't actually tried it on my Cube for a while.

And despite never playing it, Odama seems like a great pickup, but that's because I'm a sucker for Pinball.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

Just checked Wiki turns out the black mic was released only with Karoke Revolution.
Glad I have one of each, only have seen the one black one I bought.

Not sure if Gamecube mic works with Wii since it plugs in the Gamecube memory slot.

Huh ok. I got the gray one, and I was planning on getting Mario Party 6/7 anyway.
But I'll check out Odama.

How is Odama? Is it complicated or pick up and play kind of deal. My girlfriend was interested in it and we see it all the time. We thought it was some kind of rts with voice control. Pinball sounds kind of bizarre and amusing and I'm all for different experiences. And what does Chibi Robot use the mic for? Do you need a mic to play the game?

Odama is kind of a slower-physic huge pinball crushing enemy defenses. Pinball type game mixed in with strategy attack using basic voice commands from mic to urge Shogun warriors to move and attack. Very different game, one of a kind. All the Gamecube controls are being utilized so you may want to grab that Mic holder I mentioned earlier, hard to come by even Nintendo website will eventually run out.

Odama is pretty fun, though it does take a bit of getting used to. Definitely get a mic holder, its awfully hard to hold the mic in a good position and handle all the controls at the same time. It's not a super great game or anything, but it's damn unique.

Me and my friend found Odama for 5 bucks today at Wal-Mart. It's pretty insane. We can't make it past the first level... :(
