What music are you jammin?

Post by loser13 »

With the new site feature and talk of mp3 players and such, I was just wondering what albums/artists got you hooked at the moment? My list goes as follows:

Silverchair- Young Modern - The newest album(which still has no release in the states......)
Muse - Origin of Symmetry - Chaotic yet beautiful
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland - As a guitar player, I cant believe I never listened to more than his hits.
At the Drive-in - In/Casino/Out - So rough sounding, but when you pay attention, you notice incredible nuances.

Go ahead now, share!

Well, I'm a metal fan, and as most metal fans I don't really have artists that get me hooked for the moment, I have artists that get me hooked for life!

But anyway, the latests new albums (new to my collection, some are pretty old) I've been listening to are:

Blind Guardian - Imaginations Through the Looking Glass - not actually an album but a live DVD, you can read more about it in my blog: http://nebachadnezzar.blogspot.com/2007 ... eness.html

Dio - Holy Diver - the first album released by the new band of Ronnie James Dio after he left Black Sabbath. Pure greatness!

Marduk - World Funeral - Black Metal, not for everyone, but if you like some really heavy stuff this is a great album.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Lola Angst - Schwarzald - http://www.myspace.com/lolaangst

Foetus - random albums - http://www.myspace.com/foetus

Adult - Resuscitation - http://www.myspace.com/adultadult

RJD2 - 8 million stories - http://www.myspace.com/RJD2 ... this guy is really the weirdest. Jewish guy out of philly. His makes span across Rap, rock, techno, funk, ambient, and all kinds of sick stuff. God this man is a genius!

Cake - ALL THE FREAKIN TIME

The Yoko Theory ... I love to ski to this, been hooked for about a year now... can't stop listening to them daily.

and randomly this weird chick called Joanna Newsom - she fuckin' plays a HARP! - http://www.dragcity.com/bands/newsom.html

...

me and my friends like variety, so we bounce between Industrial, rock, rap, folk, and whatever genre you'd call Yoko Theory. Yoko theory is a local band (who actually broke up, and only the lead singer is still around with his 3rd solo band since), you should check it out.

Seriousily, I'm gonna share it on my storage site for a couple days. Let me know what you think.... this song is called "The Classics", it's one of my favorites.

lordofduct: I like that song. Does he have a site or myspace so I could check some other songs out? Seems like something I could get into.

yeah I think it is still around.

try www.myspace.com/theyokotheory

after yoko theory broke up though the made a band called telefiction with a couple of the members... they sound a lot of the same. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... id=4656654

they unluckily broke up... he did some side projects and now the lead guy is in this new band called "the perfect citizen". They happend to be playing this 15th at an anniversary party for the club I hang out at.

www.myspace.com/theperfectcitizen

all really good stuff

it's actually kinda hard to get your hands on yoko theory albums... the others a much easier. But even then you either A have to live here in south florida, they might have some of the stuff online for sale in random places.

I do have almost all their stuff in mp3 though. If you want it I can share it on my site in a zip file for a day or two... but I don't get a lot of bandwidth so it can't be long.

Yes that would be incredible if you can share it for a day or two. Sorry for the delayed response but my computer needed an overhaul, so I installed a hacked version of xp that is running with only 80MB OF RAM!!!(im just excited is all.......) It would definetly be cool to quit streaming this stuff off of their old dead site though.lol
