Simple as that. Feel free to brag. Make sure to say whether you grew up speaking the languages or whether you learned after childhood. Also, say something in whatever languages you can speak!
My count? I'm not fluent in any language other than English, but I can read and write Latin and Spanish. So 3.
En Español:
La idioma de España me gusta, pero realmente latín siempre tendrá mi corazón en un fuerte control.
In Latina:
Lingua Hispaniae mihi licet, sed vero Latina semper meum pectus in arto complexu tenebit.

At one point I was fluent in Arabesh, the written language of the Empire in Star Wars.

The Spanish language is permitted for me, but truly Latin I will always hold in my heart to reduce and encompass (I believe).Beak wrote: In Latina:

I'm a third year student, I can read better than I can write. Other than that, I'm quite proficient at English and that's about it.

Re: What Languages Can You Speak?
I would say that I know 4 languages well: Polish, Italian, English, Maltese and I have a decent grasp of one more (French). I can also understand about half a dozen others to various degrees but not enough to claim that I know them.
Let's see. I was born in Poland so I speak Polish. I moved to Malta where I had to learn English and I had to study Italian and French for 5 years. After which I forgot most of my French.
I never officially studied Maltese but I kind of picked it up by diffusion so now I can understand it almost perfectly even though when I speak I make mistakes. Great language to swear in, by the way.
I am teaching myself Japanese from CDs but I'm far from great.
I can understand several languages which are related to the ones I know, to various degrees, as long as people speak slowly. So I can understand when someone speaks to me in Slovak (very similar to Polish) and pick up bits and pieces of Czech and Russian (love the sound of Russian). Similarly with Spanish (Italian-like) and certain Arabic dialects (Maltese is derived from Arabic, amongst others).

I would say I'm pretty fluent in English, Afrikaans and Greek.
I can also understand the Dutch language since Afrikaans is kind of like a bastardized version of that.

Well, you know what they say...
If you speak 3 languages, you're trilingual. If you speak 2 languages you're bilingual. If you only speak 1 language, you're an American. Sadly, aside from a small Spanish vocabulary, that's me.

Cześć HateShinai
I can speak English and Polish. I grew up speaking only Polish but was sent to an English speaking school (Since I grew up in Australia). I can still speak Polish but am quickly becoming worse at it since no one I know speaks it.
Something that might seem a little strange, I can read Polish better than I can write it. (My reading and writing are horrible, but reading is significantly better then my writing).

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.
Re: What Languages Can You Speak?
I am English as just like most people ever speak one language. We have a belief that if you are talking to a non English speaking person, if we speak load enough and slow enough they will eventually understand us so there is no need to ever learn another language.
