I don't think everyone on this thread understands the differences between an overused term, an overused concept, or an oversaturated genre.

I too have a visceral response to "pwns" (especially when used in awesome open world epics), but turning off those hardcore games and taking in the innovative visuals found in my rare classic retro games always makes me LOL afterward.

Same here, but only because there's been so much of it (shovelware) thanks to the Wii and Nintendo DS.

I feel that Retro is misused as well, but what do you call game systems that are no longer supported but not retro?

Semi-retro? I was going to say "last gen" but when I think about it, even when PS4, XBOX 720, and Wii2 are out I won't consider the XBOX, PS2, Gamecube and DC as "retro".

I'm not sure if this is just a British thing but I'm sick of hearing Killed it and the other variations,
e.g. (me and ched have just killed it at the gym!!!!) randomly picked from my Facebook page.

Americans say "killed it" too, especially in the electronic music scene, so maybe we stole it from the brits. On a Seattle drum n bass messageboard I visit, one of the board owners was so sick of hearing the phrase, that he made it so the board will now replace the word kill with **** as if it were a curse word.
