I don't understand how you guys figure all this stuff out:) Can you emulate all retro systems on the DS or just GBA? I am still using the old Dingoo, but there are things I wish it had, especially since I accidentally deleted Dingux :/

GBA isn't emulation on DS, coupled with a ez-flash 3in1 it makes the DS think that the games are running from the GBA slot as real games. It's identical to playing games on a real GBA with a flashcart.

Regarding emulation, I only emulate GB and GBC on my DS, I think only megadrive and NES are the other systems that are 100%~ on it. Neo-Geo is too fiddly (nand not full screen) and a lot of SNES games have performance issues on it. For portable retro emulation stick to the PSP.

GB/GBC emulation is excellent. lameboy is as good as it gets.

NES emulation is quite good, but the screen is lower res than the NES so you have to scale it. Works better for some games than others. Duck Tales has some graphical glitches :/

Genesis games are impressively well emulated, except for the resolution issue. Only jEnesis only scales vertically, meaning the screen is too wide and you have to pan. Maybe ok for an RPG, but no good for Thunderforce IV.

Atari 2600 emulation, well as best as I could figure you had to compile Stella separately for each game. I didn't bother any further.

Neo Geo I hear is really good, but I had problems converting my roms into the format it needed.

SNES, I haven't tried yet.

It always comes back to the PSP. I do some pet sitting here and there and there was a PSP at one of the houses. I have to say, I can imagine that screen looks fantastic playing SNES games. I was sold until I realized there would be no way to play the DS Zelda games, which are really the only DS games I want to play - guess I will have to get both!

I really need to get around to getting an ezflash 3-in-1. Where did you get yours, Niode? I guess you got it before the "plus" version of it arriving (which I hear has some possibility of having incompatibilities with slot 1 cards).

Yeah I got it from Dealextreme, but obviously that's no use to you now since they've stopped stocking flash cards officially. Sorry I can't help you!

I use an acekard2i, no problems with it except for The World Ends With You, but there was a workaround for that. http://www.acekard.com/

The acekard2i is the way to go. And remember, piracy is baaad. You can always wait to get the games cheap. Most DS games are overpriced at any rate.

I've been using the M3 Real. I hardly ever use my DS, but it runs Neo Geo games as well as NES games. That's enough for me.
