Here's what you call a tiny, wee, mini, little, a bit, a tad, miniature, minim, minute, timid and small Sega Master System collection.
Haven't been collecting for any decent period of time for this system, but this is what I have so far:

nice
I just recently discovered those little cards that Sega created. I was always impressed by the Hu-cards of Hudson-soft/Nec but finally Sega did it before.
During those years Sega was on fire.

A. At least you have a few cool acessories.
B. are those little cards actual games, or like Sonic and Knuckles for the genesis?
C. Man, that Master System looks so much cooler than the ugly NES 8)

yes they are games. If I am not wrong the graphics/sounds are a little more simple than other Master system games (capacity was limited) but yep they are games.

That's a nice pair of 3-D glasses.

Cool selection of games too.

You know, I have close to 30 systems/accessories and over 600 games and it almost doesn't even seem worth posting my collection with yours here. :)

Great diversity. Out of curiosity, how much of these do you actually play? My ratio of played versus purchased games is incredibly low at this point. I have a few systems that I've only plugged in for a matter of hours or less.

Yeah I believe they were marketed more as budget type games, priced lower than the typical cartridge game.
AFAIK, only eight games were ever released on this Sega card format:
Ghost House, Super Tennis, Teddy Boy, Hang On, My Hero, Transbot, Spy vs. Spy and F 16 Fighting Falcon.
So it looks like I don't have far to go to get a complete set.

The functionality of those glasses actually surprised me quite a bit.
I mean ok the 3-D effects are kinda primitive by today's standards but the thing is that these glasses work and work quite well, imo.
The two 3-D compatible games that I have- Maze Hunter and Missile Defence, I thought the 3-D effect with the walls rising up around you in Maze Hunter, and the visual effects in Missile Defence, were quite well done.

Quite interesting is that only recently I was made aware of the fact that the Famicom 3-D glasses work quite flawlessly on the Master System and actually are capable of a brighter and clearer image than the Sega version.

It's literally a drop in the ocean, as you're probably aware of.
There are serious collections out there that make ours seem quite irrelevant. But the main thing is that our collections are relevant to us because we have fun and enjoy our purchases and were not in competition with anyone else.

That is a good point and it's obviously a big problem in trying to find the time to play the majority of the games. Slowly I see myself drifting from being first and foremost a gamer, to more of just a collector. You feel the same way?

I felt like that before I ever started collecting and its still at the core of my purchases (thus why I don't own way, way, way more - well, that and the interference of my wife :)). All 600+ of my games and obscure systems like PC-FX and SuperGrafx were purchased with the intention of enjoying, even if sometimes the intentions aren't too well founded. I'm in a purchasing drought for that reason - I'm still interested in stuff like X68000 and FM Towns Marty (for their arcade perfection), and even crap like LaserActive and CDi - but I can't justify it when I'm not even sure of how much of my collection is actually worth keeping.

I'm not going to purchase any (many?) more systems or retro games until I've gone through every game I own to put them in a sell or keep pile.

Controllers are my true niche, but I have an entire topic for that subject.
