Jesus, you're right. But I stand by my view, since they didn't get big til the late 80's/early 90's.

I suppose that's true. I'm a bigger fan of their first few albums, so in my mind they're a lot older I guess.

Edit: We have gone horribly off-topic. I apologize for de-railing!

Classic and pwned are ones that are overused.

I'm guilty of saying a game is "awesome", maybe because I can't think of anything else besides nice or kick ass. I sometimes use acronyms if I mention the same thing a lot of times, but I try not to use them if I don't have to.

This not related but I think text messaging just encourages bad and incorrect spelling, that is probably the reason for a lot of younger gamers for using acronyms for almost everything.

Gah! I hate when they do that.
I remember the first time I saw an 80s film on TCM, and I was horrified. But then again, I realized it had to happen eventually.

I'm also tired of the terms hardcore gamer and casual gamer, as I don't think anyone really understands what it means. And I don't really think anyone ever has.

Also QFT...I can never remember if this means Quoted For Truth or Quit Fucking Talking.

Where exactly is the retro cut off date/console?

I always knew it as Quit Fucking Trolling/Talking. Somewhere along the way when I stopped going to forums for quite some time it morphed into Quoted for Truth and I was quite confused.

Not sure about casual gamer, but hardcore gamer is obviously a gamer who does full nude pornography while playing Link to the Past.

Casual gamer has a leopard print bathrobe, slippers, and a pipe. Duh.
