PC in a NES mods

Post by eSPy »

This seems to be pretty popular recently so i figured id put this together, listing the mods for various components of a computer system.

PCs:

http://modsandends.com/?p=64

Mouse:

Powerglove/Mouse: http://www.zerosign.net/index.php/powerglove-mouse/

Zapper/Mouse: http://www.zerosign.net/index.php/2006/ ... per-mouse/

Controller/Mouse: http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/cool-mods- ... ler-mouse/

Cartridge/Speakers: http://www.instructables.com/id/NES-Car ... -Speakers/

Controller/USB Stick: http://www.instructables.com/id/NES-Con ... USB-Stick/

Cartridge/External HardDrive: http://www.instructables.com/id/NES-Car ... ard-Drive/

Controller/USB Hub: http://www.instructables.com/id/NES_Con ... t_USB_HUB/

ROB/Webcam: http://www.racketboy.com/gamerooms/2006 ... ebcam.html

Other Instructables:
http://www.instructables.com/id/NES_2/

There are heaps more out there but i tried to keep all the basics. There was even a prototype for a Keyboard for the american NES http://gizmodo.com/318299/nintendos-unr ... er-concept

Hope that someone other than me finds this interesting as ive never seen a NES computer system that has incorporated extra peripherals like this.
Atari 2600 Jr., NES, Gameboy, Genesis 1 and 2, Saturn, Virtual Boy, Gameboy Advance (with Supercard SD), Playstation (With Goldfinger), Nintendo 64, Playstation 2(modded), Nintendo DS (Fat) with Edge

Some of 'em, like that thumb drive in the controllers, don't look that great and every time I look at one like that I feel like they could have simply left the original controller guts in there because it takes up just the room above the A and B buttons. Having a functional controller as well as a thumb drive is even better than just a thumb drive with a really big shell.

Ive seen a few USB NES controllers that have thumb drives in them so they can run the emulator and roms off the controller. I cant find any pictures in a quick search though. The next step would be to put a full NES emulator pc into a controller...how big are those multi games again?

Edit:
And ofcourse it was done on Benheck. Im tempted to do this one myself:
