Radio Shack has any and all LED's you'll need, and the NES is compatible with any standard AV cable or audio cable thanks to the AV jacks on it's right side.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

If anybody in Europe is wondering the best place to get LED from, I have bought loads of LEDs from Optoelectronic Their LEDs are amazingly bright, they're quite expensive but the quality is rock solid. I bought 100 LEDs from there for a project and they seriously hurt my eyes to look at them on their own. Every single one was the same brightness not a single dud in the bunch. They cost 35€ + free shipping and they came within 2 working days. All the way from Germany. A lot of people on the Monome message boards highly recommend them as well.
The cheap £5 LEDs I got from ebay were an absolute joke, they were all different brightnesses some were barely even visible no matter what resistors I used.
