Josh wrote:Downloaded, played some. The game is great, just like any other Megaman game. The music isn't as great as Megaman 9 IMO, but the bonus of playing as Protoman without DLC is pretty sweet. I haven't played as him yet.

And me being as stubborn as I am, wasn't going to swallow my pride and play on the Easy difficulty. Hence why I haven't beat any levels let. I'm pretty sure Sheep Man's level is easiest, unless you cannot stand those block puzzles.

Level design is top notch, again, I haven't played through all of the levels, and I can't remember the robot masters' names, but the design of most every level is great. There are a couple of cheap shots thrown in now and again, but the game is great, for the most part.

At least from what I've played.
I haven't got a chance to play much (damn you school, always dragging me away from the important things in life, aka video games), but I beat Sheep Man's stage, and got to the end of Chill Man's stage, but couldn't beat him. (WTF, Capcom? Bosses whose name starts with "Chill" are supposed to be mindlessly easy!)

So far seems a bit better than 9, and 9 was good. I look forward to getting to play it more.

Are they releasing a boxed version of this like they did with 9?

You mean the press kit? I hope so, but I doubt it.

I ended up noobing out against Sheep Man, but I'm ready to tackle him again. I managed to make it to 4 of the 7 bosses I tried (didn't bother with Pump once I realized Sheep was easy), and the nice thing is once you get to a boss you can fight him in the challenge mode, with all weapons. Makes it easy to figure out weaknesses.

I always play with just the Mega Buster (at least on first time runs). I have to say, Commando Man was laughably easy, and Solar Man drove me mad. I've only done four so far (Solar, Commando, Sheep, Blade) and I have to give Commando Man's level the nod for hardest level of the four, and Solar Man the nod for hardest boss of those four. Blade Man's music wins.

So my sister did get it so I have been playing.

Beat Sheep man first, stage gave me a little trouble but nothing to bad. The actual boss was fairly easy.
Next up I took on Pump man, had a few bitch sections, had to retry the stage once over after getting to pump man, but second go around I made quick work of him.

As for the music, I didn't like it at first, but after a few listens its grown on me. None of them are great so far - except nitro man - but they are all good.

Just finished it and share the same feelings, the music wasn't as good (the boss theme was much better though), but the level design is excellent. I also felt that the special weapons weren't very useful, as opposed to 9 where they were almost overly useful. Another thing I like is the way they have the challenges set up. 1 major problem though: no endless attack (yet). I'm assuming that that's what that blank spot in the menu is for, but the DLC isn't up yet.

Also Wily's behind the whole thing.

I've beat Blade, Solar, Sheep, Commando, and Nitro and I'm lukewarm on the game so far. It suffers from all the same flaws as Mega Man 9. I have to say I really hate the shop system. Having such easy access to an abundance of E-Tanks is lazy design. Balancing isn't as much as an issue because having 4 lifebars can make pretty much any boss easy. Since a lot of the bosses are incredibly hard without their weakness, it just turns into me shooting aimlessly, using a couple E-Tanks in between, until they die. I'd rather have manageable bosses whereby I can devise a strategy and be able to beat them without using any E-Tanks. (And I know there certainly do exist strategies like this in Mega Man 10, but I don't feel like having to fight the boss 6 times to figure it out, when I can just down a few E-Tanks and avoid having to play through the incredibly tedious stages this game has shown me so far over and over again.)

I don't know, maybe I'm just QQing because this game is frustrating the hell out of me right now, but my enjoyment is slowly declining as I keep playing this game. Then again, this is coming from someone who didn't really like the original NES games that much, so I'm not sure what I really expected. Meh.
