WSPA Ads and the like... I hate life!!!

I swear every time I see this I get both mad as hell and sad to the point of crying. If I see and ad on TV, I don't even look for the remote to change channels, I go straight for the power button on the unit itself. So I don't care if you call me a bitch or pussy or whatever, I just wanted to if anyone feels the same way I do when they see this in any form of media advertising.

If so, yes their ads are disturbing, but that is what they are going for. The worse they make you feel for the animals, the more likely you are to want to donate or adopt or whatever.

Call the TV station. They don't have to sell ads to these people. If they know these ads are costing them viewers, they'll stop.

I have seen a few of these and frankly they really piss me off. Anyone who gives cash to these programs should not be allowed to earn money. They are animals! Your giving your hard earned money to preventing animal cruelty when you could help a HUMAN in Haiti and the like? I'd have alot more questions for the person ranking a pet over a fellow human then the guy mistreating his animal.

Sorry if I am being insensitive but I can't see how its a top priority in someone's life. It is sad how animals can be treated and its nothing farther from being ethical. But think how much is spent on the war on drugs and how effective that is. How is your donation going to help neglecting animals from happening? Besides who knows where your donation is going? It could go fund a protest at the factory that made your meal that day or just spent at the Humane Society, which does great things but ultimately kills more animals than people who neglect them, obviously in a more humane way.

This form of advertisement should be regulated as it is entrapment for the weak of heart.

I do not agree that AT ALL!!! Why should a human be more important to me than an animal? Just because they are my own species doesn't mean anything at all!!! I personally really couldn't care less about people dieing in Haiti and "the like". It's not like they are being abused. They just are a bit unlucky and have no clue what they are doing. Let's say I give them 1 million dollars. It will keep them happy, but after that then what? They'll go back to being whining babies and want more donations. With these animals they will get out of the bad situation and be healed of their illnesses and injuries. From here they can be adopted or whatever.

That's not to say I'd give money to this exact organization, it's just the topic in general.

I don't know what kind of twisted worldview you've been conditioned into, but to not care about "Haiti and "the like"' shows zero human compassion, to assume that they are "whiny babies" is naive at best. I guess I'm of the opinion that compassion for a fellow human who is suffering is of much greater significance than compassion for a suffering animal. Neither is acceptable, but if forced to prioritize there can be no question!


I love animals. I have 2 rescue dogs, a rescue cat, and an old horse and am always careful about who cares for them when I can't. Frankly, it's this kind of arrogance and indifference that marks the kind of individuals who do abuse and abandon their dogs. I wouldn't even want you giving any of my pets a treat.

Donating money to help humans or animals (almost a contradiction, isn't it?) are both worthy causes. There are definitely two sides of the coin on this issue, and with that said, my wallet goes to charity towards people, but my heart kind of goes out to the animals.
