On windows vista... But it's supposed to work on XP and Vista.
I got the latest build (20100219 - really recent it seems) and the usual Tyrian 2.1 data files, put everything on the same folder. The SDL .dlls already came in the latest build, but I went to get them separately and they were exactly the same files.
When I run the .exe, the game opens, cycles relatively fast through the team, and then gets to the menu and the window just closes (I presume it's a crash of some sort). I barely get to see the menu.
Anyone can get it to work on their machine?
Ivo.
I can't get OpenTyrian to work

You may have a joystick or some application that emulates a joystick which is interfering with the game.
Try running the game as.

Thanks, I will try this when I'm back at home. I do indeed have a gamepad.Mindless wrote:You may have a joystick or some application that emulates a joystick which is interfering with the game.

Maybe open up the calibration for the pad in windows too, make sure its not a little off center and wigging out. Maybe its a little off center and the game's setting for the dead zone is set really small.Ivo wrote:Thanks, I will try this when I'm back at home. Re: I can't get OpenTyrian to work
It is definitively related with this as running it with that command works. What I actually have is a USB to Saturn/DC/PS1 thingy (3 in 1 joybox). Strangely the game also does the "zip past the logos and exit" even if I unplug the pad but leave the joy box plugged into the USB. I unplug the joy box and it runs well without the no-joystick command.
