Re: Should probably stay off of the PS3 right now...
I haven't logged in or turned it on today in hopes of bypassing this annual failure. Hopefully, tomorrow, this problem will have blown by and not effect my PS3.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: Fat PS3 not working tonight - Sony problem
Thank god for the internet, i was ready to try "formatting" back to default settings...
Re: Fat PS3 not working tonight - Sony problem
ALL FAT PS3 OWNERS DISCONNECT THAT ETHERNET CABLE AND WIRELESS ACESSS IMMEDIATELY!
My son and his friend both Fat PS3 got same sign in error 8001050F. We do not have Heavy rain. Any newer games that have trophies no longer work. Same scenario, another friend has newer slim no problems.
Now cannot even play Modern Warfare 2 offline.
Looks like Sony is at it again, trying to pull 60gb machines out of our hands so we have to eventually buy PS2 downloads.
I for one am keeping both my PS2's with HDLoader. Sorry Sony I'll keep those off line out of your grubby greedy hands.
They better fix this!

We are looking for Sony! Have something to discuss with you!

Seriously, stop being so sensationalist. You're almost as bad as the damn fanboys.
Until we know more about this issue there's nothing we can say. However the fact that this is happening at all is a complete joke and Sony needs to get their shit together. This is 2010, not fucking 1999. If their hardware has some sort of date related bug that is some seriously weak shit. My 360 has had no problems tonight. My PS3 however could not access my friends list or trophies. The only disk I had in the drive was This Is It. Hopefully I haven't lost any trophies. If I have that's it, I'm no longer going to bother with them, I've already lost half my trophies from migrating from a 40GB to a 60GB BC version (despite doing a backup and sync as instructed by Sony themselves). I sure as shit ain't bothering getting them back if they're gone again. What a fucking joke. This kind of thing just doesn't happen on 360.

Microsoft as a whole, however, is definitely not immune to crappy leap year related programming.Niode wrote:What a fucking joke. This kind of thing just doesn't happen on 360.
All the 30gb Zunes were totally unusable on Dec 31, 2008

I felt this is too important, apologies, trying to keep some owner's Fat Ps3s alive with a huge attention getter. Hopefully it is a temporary Sony glitch and they will fix this, although it is suspicious that only Fat PS3's are affected.Niode wrote:Seriously, stop being so sensationalist. Sorry you have to clean up the repeats, a moderator's thankless job is never done. Even though you did not like my post, you didn't delete it I appreciate that.
I left a note on here that might be of help in solving new thread repetition of older posts:
Scroll towards the bottom I also touched on this topic as well there.

Yeah, and I'm sure for every problem like this that the PS3 has, the 360 has a problem that is just as bad.
No system is perfect. You're going to get screwed one way or another.

Yeah, but the Zune is pretty crappy anyway, given the alternatives.dlmvii wrote:Microsoft as a whole, however, is definitely not immune to crappy leap year related programming.Niode wrote:What a fucking joke. This kind of thing just doesn't happen on 360.

@CRT
I don't censor posts.
@7K
I haven't experienced any problems with my 360 ever since I got it, however, I have had several issues with my PS3s. I know that doesn't go for everyone but it matters to me. The fact that this has happened just sullies Sony's reputation even further in my eyes.
