Some questions about the NGCD.

Post by Marktheshark »

I've been thinking about getting a Neo Geo CD for a while now, but I have some questions to ask of course.

1. Will all the Neo Geo controllers work with the NGCD?

2. Since I'll be getting a JPN NGCD & that I live in the US, would I need a 100V to 120V voltage adapter for the NGCD to work & last a long time?

3. What are some good, cheap NGCD games that arent fighters? I know there's Sonic Wings 2 & 3 to think about as well as Windjammers, but what else is there?

1. yes

2. My main NGCD is a JP model that I put a dirt easy region switch in. The voltage difference is really not that big of deal. I have a JP Saturn that I practically play daily too.

3. Twinkle Star Sprites, Last Hope, Metal Slug 1 & 2...but you said cheap.

The US NGCD is also dirt easy to install a region switch if voltage is a big concern of yours.

Thanks for the help, syn. So I guess there isn't a lot of good NGCD non-fighting games that can be found for cheap?

Well, I also have another question:

Since I don't have paypal, what're some good online stores out there that sell NGCD games & don't require you to have paypal to buy from those stores?

Step downs are available.

All of my japanese systems are just plugged into the wall. The 10 volts may shorten the life of the console say 3-10%. It'll probably be dropped or some other mishap before any damage will occur. In the last 30 years I've seen video game collectors come and go. You'll get bored with the japanese systems and sell them for the Xbox 1280, PS6 or Nintendo Zed before they go bad anyways.

If it was a real problem, there'd be all sorts of threads warning you not to do so.

@Marktheshark, Master Tasuke showed one once. If you still talk to him, he could recommend one I'm sure.
