Shumps on Neo-Geo CD

Post by BlackDS »

so, I got one of these neo-geo cd thingies.
Honestly, I dont know why I got one, because I dont like collecting Japanese stuff (mainly because I can't read it), and I hate fighters.

Besides Metal Slug, what good shooting games are there for the system?

So buy English games. What's stopping you from buying locally released English games instead of importing from Japan? That's besides the fact that shumps are totally playable in Japanese.

Last Resort, View Point, Ghost Pilots, Pulstar, Aero Fighters 2 and 3 (aka. Sonic Wings 2 and 3), Alpha Mission 2, Blazing Star, Last Hope, Twinkle Star Sprites...

...Ironclad.

And that's it. There are only about 12 shooters on the NGCD. They're all pretty good though.

Thanks duders, I think one of the Aero Fighters came with the system.
I was kinda hoping I would score something uber-valuable like Metal Slug or Neo Turf masters, but you can't have everything.

The system also doesn't have copy protection, so you can download ISOs and burn them to CD-R.

Though personally, I'd rather use an emulator (like the DC one), since I heard that the system is very slow.

Metal Slug isn't so expensive on the Neo Geo CD. It's usually $50-100 (closer to the higher end). It's the cartridge version that is insanely expensive. Neo Turf Masters should be somewhere around $100 as well.

see, that $71 was all the money I had in the world, so $100 is kinda a lot right now :)
