Games Beaten: 2010
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I recently beat Phantasmagoria. It was a strange experience. The game is pretty lousy, but for some reason I couldn't stop. There are so many better games that I don't even come close to finishing, but I just liked the cheap horror of this game.

Case Closed (PAL)
Was a pretty awful game, but I bought it cheap at forced myself to finish it (5 hrs max).

I finally got around to beating Sonic Advance. I played through to Zone 5 maybe a year ago, but gave up cause I kept getting my ass kicked. For whatever reason I picked it up today and breezed straight through playing as Sonic. I immediately tried a second playthrough as Amy Rose, but her play style just didn't feel right to me.
My only real complaint with the game is that it felt like there were too many cheap spike traps. You will be flying through a level only to be hit with a face full of spikes with no warning or real chance to avoid them.
Awesome game though! Anyone waiting for Sonic's return to form in Sonic 4 should pick this game up in the mean time.

Just beat Dead Space for PS3...it's really not that difficult, and not as scary as I'd been led to believe. Truthfully, it reminded me of Doom 3 in a few places, though admittedly it was in terms of appearance: space ships, dark lighting, that kind of thing. I still had fun playing it, so I thought it was a good experience.
Also I did it using only the Plasma Cutter. Oh yeah.

Updated:
- Assassins Creed II (PS3)
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
Shatter (PS3)
Mass Effect (PC)
*NEW* Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price (PS3) - Free rental from my library that I was trophy whoring. Surprising decent for a harry potter movie tie in game. Still not good though.
*NEW* Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3) How did this do so good sales wise? Its a terrible buggy and broken game.
*NEW* Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS) Excellent mix of oldschool castlevania and metroidvania gameplay. Had one of my most memorable boss fights.
*NEW* Trace Memory (DS) Stopped playing it right near the end for other games a while back, finally finished it off last night. Pretty good story, but there are better games. Though I do want to play the sequel. (Damn you nintendo for not bring it to North America!)

Re: Games Beaten: 2010
A couple weeks ago I got my first Platinum trophy for Tekken 6. S my D, Devil Jin. I love this game. I even enjoyed the campaign mode, which everyone else in the universe hated.
That's the only game in which I've really beaten everything. I played Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 through to the end of the story, once on each side. It was a lot of fun, as I played it with a friend. The second time through we played it on the same difficulty, so we were absurdly overpowered, which was pretty entertaining.
I played through Uncharted 2 over this last week. I had the same complaints with it as I had with the first game. Mostly that it's too reliant on cutscenes and cinematics. I hate games that are essentially just movies with quick-time events inserted sporadically. At it's worst, Uncharted 2 was like that. I also had to restart several times because of game-breaking bugs. I'm playing it through a second time now to hunt for treasures, which is a hell of a lot more fun. I skip all the cinematics and turned off the sound so that I didn't have to hear any more cracks about Chloe's ass.

Re: Games Beaten: 2010
Ah yes, I finally get to make a post in here. I beat Vectorman for the first time today. I used to love this game as a kid and would always rent it but back then I never owned it. Anyways its been in my collection for years, I've just never given it a serious play. All this week I've been playing it a bit each day and for my first time beating it I kicked its ass.
I completed the game with 15 lives remaining and found all (I think) of the max life increases (I had 9 and you start with 4). Final score was 670,500. Really great game. The ending kind of came out of nowhere, but the bosses were fun and the levels were fresh. I think I'll be trying to get a copy of Vectorman 2 soon (I have one, but its not in Korea with me).
I'm in Korea now and I picked up a Mega Drive, but as opposed to my collection back home, I'm only buying a few very select games. Hopefully I'll be playing through all of them, something I never did much of back home.
