So I managed to nab one of these from a local game store, I traded in all of my Gameboy games to do so (I never played it, and there are so many Gameboys and Gameboy games around... They'll show up more often than a NGPC will!).

I am super happy, I love the system already, and I've only played Sonic Pocket Adventure.

My question is about the savegame feature. Since the games are saved on the console directly, there is no way ingame (at least for SPA) to delete my name as "DAVID", and all of "Dave's" progress on SPA (and maybe other games I'm not aware of yet) is there.

I already had to replace the CR2032 because the one that came with the console was dead, (thus doing a 'hard reset' of the console, and I thought, the savegame feature, too) and I've looked everywhere for a normal 'Reset' button, have gone through all the menus (both ingame and the NGPC menu)... I'm at a loss. Suffice to say, I like to start from scratch, and when the game remembers a name I'd want to to be my name. Not David's.

I've searched the internet quite thoroughly, and these forums as well, and maybe it's obvious and I'm not seeing it ?

Legally change your name to David. Quite obvious really.

Though if I changed my name it'd be something awesome, like Count Merrymaster "Thundercloud" Jefferson.

And yes, the quotes are necessary. So My middle initial would be " technically.

I thought the game saves were saved to the carts. The internal memory and that battery are for the save/restore feature similar to the wii. Basically you can suspend some games and then play them from that spot only the next time you turn on your NGPC.

But how would you clear all the data from the internal memory? Much less alter or use them? I've gone through every menu possible from the only options I have (which are the NGPC itself and Sonic Pocket) and haven't come up with anything.

Maybe once you've played a cart of Sonic Pocket Adventures, it's yours forever....

Edit: I figured out how to get Dave's name off the game, It was set in the 'Rankings' menu. It didn't reset the game progress, though, so I can skip to any level.

So if the savegames are on the cartridges themselves, then I suppose there isn't a question, although I still can't seem to access the console's memory at all. Is it generally done through a menu ingame?
