Wouldn't a DC Doom mod work on the PC version?
I was trying to find a picture of Lenny and Carl from the Stonecutters episode of the Simpsons... y'know? "Shhhhut upppp."
I love the Stone Cutters! No Homers allowed!

I'd get the keyboard for 4€. That's a steal. I paid £15 for mine when they were brand new. Still got the box and plastic bags for it. TotD is an awesome game, I actually prefer it to the lightgun version. It's worth it for some of the bizarre sentences it asks you to type later on. It had me literally laughing out loud. Very hard to concentrate.

And yes, the PC port is god-awful. I tried the PC port to see if it was any good, it just pushed me towards finding a DC import copy, it was that bad. It just doesn't feel right, key input feels really laggy and there's graphical glitches galore.

Keyboard + Mouse makes Quake 3 awesome to play, but there's not really much point in that since Quake Live launched. Having the mouse is more of a curiosity for collectors than having any real use. I used to use mine all the time for Quake 3, I loved playing that game on DC. This was when the DC was still being sold in shops though so there wasn't much of an alternative and my PC at the time couldn't run Q3 as well as the DC (no 3D accelerator -- lol remember when they were still called that?).

You still reading this blog? RUN out and get that Dreamcast Keyboard!

You can get adaptors real cheap to run a regular ps2 (PC) connector for second keyboard and optical mouse later.

Ivo.
FPS on the big screen is sooo much better.

Now thats an unfounded comment. If you know anything about PCs and TVs you can make that happen. 90% of consumer graphics cards have had atleast an Svideo port on them for the last decade. And if you have a newer tv with VGA, DVI, or HDMI ports it is a simple cable connection to make that happen. I used two 15 inch crt monitors via VGA and a 32inch crt tv via Svideo on my computer for five years before the TV stopped working.

Solid wireless peripherals, even modern console controllers, make the argument even less valid.

Same situation for me, so I run two DC's. One on a VGA monitor for 640x480, other on HD (no VGA hookup), lot bigger pic at couch. Plus the HD with S-Video though not as high res allows all the non-VGA games to run.

But back on topic, did you get that DC Keyboard? It is a good price. Instead of DC mouse might look into that ps2(PC) adaptor so you can run an optical mouse.
