Where is the investigation on the Fords that have the same chinese pedals? Sounds like somebody is someone else's back pocket.

Yikes!
I think you mean they're getting hanged. Two totally different meanings.

Thats funny you made this thread today. Just traded my Toyota in today! Picked up a real car, a 09 Dodge Challenger R/T. On my phone at work right now, but I'll post pics later. This car is everything I ever wanted in a automobile. That Hemi puts out the coolest sound ever.
Re: Toyota (and Toyoda) is getting hung!
I have a Tacoma. Just bought it in February of last year so it's brand new. I have trusted Toyota for years! They have always made some of the most quality cars in the world. My first car was a Toyota Camry that ended up with 275,000 miles on it before the transmission finally went. I finally get the chance to buy my first new car and it's during a period where quality has taken a nose dive. My truck has been free of recalls so far, but I have been taking it in since about a month after I bought it for brake issues. I only found out about the recall issues a few months ago and when I did I was very concerned. I just took it in for a huge diagnostic on the various shuddering and stuttering the brakes were doing and they found nothing. I can't help, but wonder if they really didn't find anything or if they are following some strange protocol that says to ignore all but the most serious and obvious issues. The one guy I talked to on the phone slipped and said the Tacoma has not been recalled yet, he stuttered, then realized he was stuck and said it's only a matter of time. The best thing for me (and anyone else in my position) is to go to a shop that you trust - I have not done this because the truck is under warranty and it is all free - and pay out the money to get a real diagnostic done. I have a shop that my family and I have been going to for years. They always give us tons of deals and are always straight forward. It'll be interesting to see what is really wrong with this truck.

I hope to hell this results in something being done about all the black boxes inside our cars these days. They should be required to publish the source code for all the computers in a car so people can find these bugs and fix them, instead of relying on the manufacturer who will swear up and down that there's no problem until they're hauled in front of Congress. It's getting to the point where you can't even get your car fixed by regular mechanics because it's all controlled by code that no one can see.
At the very, very least, they should require an electromechanical kill switch in every vehicle operated by computer.

The new "Retro" cars are nice and a move in the right direction. I don't consider those Factory Hot Rods "Real" cars. Doesn't represent a true hot rod compared to one that you rebuild and customize with your own hands.corn619 wrote:Thats funny you made this thread today. Just traded my Toyota in today! Just some shims to open up the pedals from sticking. Though the accusations of sudden acceleration can't just be the floor mats. I suspect the cruise control or the drive by wire sensors and solenoids.vash23n wrote:They always give us tons of deals and are always straight forward. Re: Toyota (and Toyoda) is getting hung!
Yeah, you may be right on that. But I have to consider safety for my family, reliability, MPGs and of course my enjoyment. "Real" hot rods can't offer this while my new Challenger can. This is going to be a almost daily driver for me. And how come you couldn't have just said something nice?CRTGAMER wrote:The new "Retro" cars are nice and a move in the right direction.
