My game collection is almost entirely Japanese and the 3DO won't be an exception. The only way I will consider buying a non-Japanese game is if it's not available in Japanese (for example, there are a handful of arcade racers not available on the Japanese N64, so I get the American versions) or if the Japanese version is inferior or unplayable (For example, Arad Senki for the Japanese PC lags and has IP blocks, so I play the American version).
Is your system collection entirely Japanese also?

Yep. I would love to take pics and share everything but I'm waiting till I get more shelves and stuff first.

I don't have much to add other than I almost regret purchasing my 3DO, almost.

But, it sounds like you have better access to 3DO games than I do.

Which games do you own?

There's a lot of great games out there for the 3DO. A word of advice if its on the 3DO and Saturn or Playstation, The 3DO version is better.

Really? I had no idea about this. Why is that so? It has a slower CPU than the PSX does
I've got no signature.

I'm pretty sure that the 2d capabilities of the 3DO where technically superior to PSX. It's true though that almost every cross platform game that appeared on the 3DO was the best available.

Speaking of the Jaguar 101, is that going to be updated any time soon? Even leaving the "64-bit" argument out of it, stating it's a dual 32-bit chip system is in err. Tom is not a single processor chip - it's a RISC based chip that contains three separate processors. The jag is a multiprocessor system, 5 in total. Tom contains the processors responsible for graphics, which work in conjunction with one another. A 32 bit "GPU" (which I put in quotes because the other standard functions one would expect in a single GPU are actually split between these three processors), a 64 bit fully programmable object processor, and a 64 bit blitter processor (which also handles z-buffering, gouraud shadding, and other functions). Tom also contains the memory manager, which connects to the 64-bit data bus. In fact both the object and blitter processors run their own code, and once loaded can process fully with no other intervention. (Likewise for the DSP processor - Jerry, which can actually be used as general purpose processor as well). That was actually the purpose of the 5th processor, the 68000, which was meant to be used as bootstrap only and never used again. In fact you can turn off any one of the 5 processors completely at any given time.

Sorry for reviving this thread, had done a search in the forums for "Jaguar 101" and this thread had popped up.

It would probably be better if you took that up with Fastbilly. I'm listed as a copresenter, but I mainly just edited the article and will fully admit to not knowing much about the Jaguar.

Could be true but don't forget, PSone games can be played on PS3 over a nice HDMI connection with smoothing and fast loading turned on and played with a wireless controller. Not to mention PSone games are way easier to find and probably cheaper than 3DO versions.

Do you mean PS1 games purchased from PSN or can you actually insert a PS1 disc and play it? If so, can they all do this or just certain models? Which models? I've been on the fence for a while about getting a PS3.
