No kidding? That would be interesting. It would definitely add a lot of replay value to the game.

I don't have the article handy, but I also read they were adding multiplayer. This steam-only version was supposed to be a sneak peek at what they were trying to accomplish with the game. My only hope when they add multiplayer is to have it centralized like the Diablo 2 realms on Battle.net. I'm playing through Titan Quest now and my only gripe with the multiplayer is there is no real worth to any items and a character editor can get you everything you want. If it can be legit with no hacks, pvp, it will add a ton of re-playability to an already great game.

Edit: Also as to the original post, you should have seen when the game was on sale for $5.

What I read was that they would use the profits of Torchlight to develop a Torchlight MMO. http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/news/134148 ... two-years/

Not sure whether or not that means that multiplayer patch/add-on to the current game is in development, but maybe that's what you guys remember reading about...
