Post by SpaceBooger »

Where is the best place for me to find translated roms of Japanese only released games such as: Mother NES, Ys NES, etc...

Some of the typical rom sites like romnation might have pre-patched copies, but the surest way is to grab a Japanese copy of the ROM and the patch file from the specific development teams website, then patch the ROM with program called IPS patcher.

Which game are you looking for?

And are you sure it's fully translated?

What games... don't know, if I could find a site then I would pick and choose - I guess Mother (Earthbound 1) is a must have for me.

Am I sure it's translated... no, but again if there was a site that had all the roms I hope it would tell me...

Hi. First time poster. I Figured I should do something helpful my first time posting.

If you’d like Mother/Earthbound Zero in a translated form, this site has a translated rom. Look for Earthbound Zero, and click the download link.

(for some reason the link won't come up right here, just copy and paste it)

If you have an untranslated rom and just need a patch, this site has one. It also apparently gives you double experience points so its “less tedious”.

As far as other sites that deal with rom translation and such, there’s
http://www.romhacking.net/
Which has lots of rom translation patches and tools to patch games.

This site has a number of translation patches for different games.

I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

I don't believe they have one. I haven't hit up the rom translations since last Christmas though and im not big on the gba translations

on the topic:
http://www.rom-world.com/

its a good site with most of the pre-patched games. you might need to know abit about romhacking lingo........also if you dont know how to apply a patch from to a game i would highly recommend ips xp. its a very usefull tool that applies the patch for you.

I haven't played the Mother/Earthbound series yet and I thought I would start with Earthbound Zero. I do have a copy of the unreleased english NES rom but I'm wondering if it would be better to get the above patch and use that instead (e.g, japanese rom + starman patch)? Is the double experience points feature worth it?

I know Mother 3 was translated for GBA. But does anyone know if Mother I & II for GBA was translated?

Here you go.

Does it matter which game you start off with? Is there a connecting storyline? I'm playing Earthbound, am I missing anything by not playing the NES Earthbound?
