so I'm trying to softmod my xbox following this tutorial:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/lofiversio ... 740-0.html
I'm tried using this USB adapter for transferring my savestates.
But I can't get the Action Replay Hack to work, although my usb stick should be compatible.
Is there any other way I can make my Usb device Xbox compatible and that I can read it with my PC? Some kind of programm which is able to read it? Or some linux method? Pls Help!
Xbox softmod problem: Getting usb stick to work
Re: Xbox softmod problem: Getting usb stick to work
If I remember correctly the problem is getting the action replay program to recognise the thumbdrive as an action replay device by modifying some ini file so you can transfer the save to it (get the hardware ven&pid from device manager then paste those in). I'll check mine out when I get home and let you know what filesystem the thumbdrive is formatted as. I think I remember there being a max capacity you can't go over aswell so you might need to partition it smaller. Mine's the cheapest 64 meg one I could find.
Re: Xbox softmod problem: Getting usb stick to work
It's the file system, it'll be FAT32 xbox uses a propriety system called FATX it'll constantly force you to format when you reinsert to you comp, So specific sticks do work (there's a compat list out there somewhere) but other than that mod chip.
Re: Xbox softmod problem: Getting usb stick to work
you have to change xbreader.ini file.
does the xbox format the memory stick when you plug it in (assuming you made a usbF to xbox controllerM wire
or you can rent my softmod kit.

I change the ini file. I tried it several times. It doesn't work
Yes, the xbox formats the usb stick.
Is there any possibility that my pc will read FATX with some program or Linux destribution, except action replay software?

Kyle's in Germany, so that's probably not the best option for everyone.vlame wrote:or you can rent my softmod kit.

Re: Xbox softmod problem: Getting usb stick to work
A change of the .ini only works for compatible sticks.

In both Windows XP and the latest Ubuntu LiveCD, my memorycard/thumbdrive shows up as unknown or unpartitioned space.
This is the adapter I'm using
