Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I went to the midnight showing of Shutter Island thursday night. I read the book beforehand, so I was kind of comparing it. It's almost exactly the same as the book, but they left a few things out that I think would've made the audience get more into it. And it felt a little rushed to me (same way Angels&Demons did). Guess it's not easy fitting an entire book into a movie. All in all, I enjoyed it. Just don't approach it thinking it's going to be a scary/horror movie...like all the HS kids in the theater with us were probably expecting. lol

Just watched the new Terminator movie - to all the haters, it had Mr. Ironsides in it! It automatically gets a 5 out of 5. I don't really know what happened in the rest of the film, but there is a chick, Moon Bloodgood, who shows the first nipple in a Terminator film (I think). Other than that. Boo to Bale's constantly forced raspy voice (same as the Batman flicks) and I wish they kept Claire Danes as what's her name. Cheers to Anton Chekhov (as Alexis calls him) as he had me believing he was a young Michael Beihn.

Nope, sorry. There were boobies in the original.vash23n wrote:I don't really know what happened in the rest of the film, but there is a chick, Moon Bloodgood, who shows the first nipple in a Terminator film (I think).
FWIW, I didn't think Terminator:Salvation was that great. For example, it had the dumbest portrayal of Skynet by far, and I thought John Connor's actions in the film were severely out of character for him after the events in Terminator 2 and 3. As far as I'm concerned, the story was over at the end of Terminator 2.
I watched "The Invention of Lying" last night. It got a little bit slow in the middle, and the pizza box joke was severely forced, but overall I laughed a lot. The first twenty minutes or so were great-- it's the romantic stuff that kind of got draggy in my eyes.

T2>T1>(TSCC)>T4>T3.. though the first two are swappable. And no this equation isn't 100% scientific

Last movie i tried to see was Wolf Man(or something like that, its new) and there was a power outage in the cinema and the 35mm(about 856meters of it) film was destroid as the projectors spun out of sync.

I generally agree, except with the idea that the first two are swappable. The first is very decidedly a 'B' action flick. Terminator 2 improves on it substantially.Pulsar_t wrote:T2>T1>(TSCC)>T4>T3.. though the first two are swappable. And no this equation isn't 100% scientific
I'd say Terminator 3 and Terminator 4 are fairly close in quality, though. I'm not a huge fan of either.

I rented Dragonball: Evolution the other night. It was actually was better than I thought, but still not very good.

I actually agree about Terminator 2. Should have ended there. Now I feel committed to see each that comes out. I still enjoy the new films, but on a different level. They are fun, but not as meaningful. I totally forgot about Terminator 1 boobies.Limewater wrote:Nope, sorry. As for Bale's portrayal, the one thing my wife and I both noticed was how different he made John Connor. John Connor was always a bit quirky with a good brain. Making him all action star was a bit disappointing. We found ourselves enjoying the Blaire/Marcus/Kyle storyline much more. I do like the way Yelchin played Kyle - I really think he pulled of a good young Michael Biehn accent.

I agree, although I prefer T2 over T1 all the time and I have never seen the TV show.Pulsar_t wrote:T2>T1>(TSCC)>T4>T3.. though the first two are swappable. And no this equation isn't 100% scientific
