Just subscribed to the new EGM coming out this late March. I must say I'm hype about it's new feature and the return of Steve Harris the original Publisher (I hope Sushi X, Dan and the rest of the old review gang are coming back...well, i can hope). I can't wait.
Here's a preview of their new feature EMG: Click Here (The Lost Issue)
But I'll cancel my subscription in a heartbeat if they stop making a print magazine. After all, there's nothing quite like sitting down and manhandling fresh newsprint.
My Consoles:

The new EGM is going all out on the media front (TV-yet to be revealed, podcast-yet to be revealed, digital magazine-just revealed, at least a proof of concept, and print-soon to be revealed).
I have been covering it over on OoPA if you are interested in reading more about it (Steve has links on http://www.egmnow.com too).
lets face it, magazines are dead or going to die.
Why wait a whole month or a week to get written document with pictures when the web gives you the same information within seconds including all types of media and interactivity and its free.
before the internet magazines was a great way to connect with those who share the same interests as you do, but no more. The internet killed it.
Kind of like how traveling by air killed traveling by sea.
What can EGM provide in print form that can't be on the web?
I am one of the guys who LOVES magazines, I wish I can work in a magazine but lets face it. Its dead for the most part.
I am interested in the interactive magazine though, but its hard to see the difference between it and the website.
The only advantage of a magazine of a website is that instead of logging on the web and
"searching for the news"
the magazines provides you with
"This is whats hot and cool now" , so they choose the news for you and what is important
