So, I got me Saturn off eBay that was in good shape and I got me a chip from here. How do I tell when it comes in if it has a sanyo board or the other? Are all the sanyo boards not green?
Thanks!

As far as I know (and my knowledge on the subject is very limited), Sanyo boards are brown/tan. I believe that they're much more frequent on Japanese hardware than American, but I could be terribly wrong. When you open up your Saturn you'll immediately be able to tell, as it'll look much different than most of the units you'll see pictured online.
Unless you're experienced with modding, my advice would be that if you get a Sanyo board Saturn to not mess with it, just use it to play legit Saturn games, and try again. I hear that even if you do everything right there's a good chance it won't work. If there's any cool gaming stores near you they'll probably let you pop open the systems to check their boards if you ask. The extra price might be worth the peace of mind. Even if the casing is crappy, doing a case switch is as easy as could be.

Right on thanks! I hope the one I ordered is not a Sanyo.equalsign wrote:As far as I know (and my knowledge on the subject is very limited), Sanyo boards are brown/tan. Pardon my ignorance but what's the difference?
