Talk, read, and think about games more than playing them?

I'm thinking that maybe I actually do talk, read, think, hunt for, install, and set up games more than I actually play them.

I've found periods of my life where I'm that way, and I don't see anything out of the ordinary about it. Especially if you're playing challenging games. It's hard to keep it up if you keep dying over and over, while talking and looking up games is easy and care-free. Can I play Double Dragon NES for 5 hours straight? Not really, but I can with Mass Effect 2. But a lot of the fun of games is the challenge and overcoming it.

Welcome to my life! I work at an EB Games and I play street fighter most of the time for an hour or 2 everyday ? The rest of my day is taken up by kotaku ign and racket boy and on thursdays I take a trip to the funimation website to stream full metal alchemist brotherhood. The last book I read was Arcade Mania great book by the way. It goes without saying that I talk about games at work.

I probably spend more time here than I do actually playing games anymore. Come summer, my game playing will pretty much dry up altogether!

Due to school, I'm lucky I have time to eat, let alone play games. The past few days have literally been wake up -> school -> fall asleep -> eat dinner while either watching anime or browsing the web -> homework -> sleep -> repeat T_T

I have managed to a play half of Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ (great game by the way) and hope to play the second half as soon as I have time.
Make sure you play on hard mode, otherwise the amount of levels are cut short. My younger brother beat it on normal mode and it told him to play hard mode to get the rest of the levels and true ending.

Yep. Same here. Some day when my list of games to get is complete (probably never) I'll have to sit down and beat all of them (the good ones anyway). I probably sit down to play videogames maybe once or twice a week, and probably don't play for more than an hour or 2 in a sitting. So that's like 8 hours a month maybe. That tells you why I don't play competitive multiplayer games online, since the average halo 3 nerd plays that in the average day.

I find myself tracking down alot of games I missed out on circa '99-'07, when I fell out of gaming a bit. now that many of these games are so cheap I snatch them up, but finding time to play them all is difficult, especially RPG's.

A good example is my search for a copy of Gradius V. I scoured Ebay for months looking for a good deal, looked for it at every gaming store I came across, read reviews and opinions at a bunch of websites, and when I finally snagged a copy at a good price I spent all of fifteen minutes playing it, thought "This games's cool..." and then put it down and have not touched it since... but it's only been a few days.

Yup. Me too. I'm always looking for a game that will grab my attention the way they used to. As soon as I find one I play it constantly until I've gone through every part of it, it's done way too quick and I start searching again. That's also the reason I stay well away from online play. I have enough vices, I can't afford to get hung up on an unwinable game. I generally play at least an hour a day unless I find a really good one, but I find I mostly enjoy slowly playing through my old favorites a bit at a time. I'm also one of those guys who plays through every remake and port of my old favorites. I too actually spend more time here than behind a controller.
