This has nothing to do with video games...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Thanks buddy.

Just one more reason to love piggies!

I'm glad to hear your mother-in-law is ok, and I hope she has a speedy recovery. It sounds like she's doing well.
Thanks Ack.

It's just amazing that this morning they sawed her chest open, replaced a human valve with a pig valve, and she'll be breathing on her own tonight, possibly even right now.

It's just astounding.
Modern science. It's kinda amazing.

I hope she has a nice recovery.

I don't pass out in hospitals, but I do feel light headed when I go in them. I think I've associated it with being sick or in real bad shape, so it just kind of hits me when I walk in the door. Do you have a fear of needles or blood by any chance? Phobias related to blood-injection have the unique feature of making people feel dizzy or faint, sometimes even leading to passing out.

Breathing tube is out, and she's talking. Modern science is amazing, it's almost catching up with Weird Science.

Thanks JT. You're alright in my book.

Never had a fear of needles or blood. I received weekly allergy shots for at least ten years in the past, and am working on my 3rd gallon pin from the red cross.

Sometimes I think it's just the environment of Hospitals. So sterile. Not clean, just sterile.

Awesome, glad it went smoothly for your mother in law. Now we just gotta keep you from spray painting bathrooms the hard way and things will be ok.

They're hoping to remove the breathing tube tonight too.

When we saw her in ICU, she looked pretty good, and although she didn't open her eyes, she was responsive, and kept pointing to her heart. I held back a few tears, and the wife handled it really well. I'm just so glad and relieved that she is okay. Still, it's a long road ahead. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

I have some weird hospital phobia where as soon as I enter one, I nearly pass out. I didn't have that feeling this time, so that was nice. However, I drank two sodas in one hour, and then I barfed. On the toilet seat. On the toilet tank. On the stall walls. On the floor. I think I barfed Sunkist everywhere except for on my clothes.
Good to hear things went well. Hopefully she will have a speedy and healthy recovery.

Hopefully they give the hospital janitor a raise as well.

Thanks guys.

I was so emotionally exhausted that I slept through my alarm going off. Also, for the first time since last October, didn't hit the gym. I'm going to file that under:a reasonable reason.

I'll chime in and say I'm glad things went well, too. I've only had major experiences in hospitals with birth and death, respectively, so I'm glad you had one with giving life. Here's to a speedy recovery for her and her family.

Thanks Aaron.

Well ain't this a kick in the head? My brother in law broke his leg, in half fibula and tibia, last night, so I'm off to a hospital in Charlotte. What a week.

Crazy how some things turn out. Mom is doing great, walking and talking. My brother in law has had a few complications with his surgery including blood clots, and although he was supposed to be home last night, may not be able to leave the hospital until Sunday.

What a week.
