When we look at the PS3 like we look at the ATARI 2600....

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

At that point in the future, we'll be so tired of realistic graphics, that we will look back and think the 2600 had better graphics than the PS3.

Agree, I think some of that is happening right now. Look at all the retro downloads on current Gen Consoles and all the older games getting re-discovered on the cell phone.

I don't want to say that I hate 3D, I remember as a kid I always wanted to play in a 3D world. No more stupid 2D jumping.

Well its been some time with things like GTA, Assassin Creed, and more. But I am starting to realize that those games are more serious than fun. When I play Snes or Genesis, you pick it and you are right into the game no weird five finger actions. You see everything , no need to change camera angle. And you learn as you play along, in 3D games some how you have to know everything from the start.

I am currently playing link to the past, and I am amazed that the graphics are very pleasing. I can't say the same to something from the NES era, maybe it exists, but SNES graphics can be awesome.

I do not believe that 3D games should go, but I think its time to go back into 2D games . I think they can co-exist. But we want to see serious efforts in the 2D games, just like the stuff put into DS games. I don't want to see another "Wii" situation, where they go "This is not bleeding edge hardware, lets create crap for it"
